Please Welcome New UUCGT Staff!
New Religious Education Director
We are pleased to announce that Betsy Hammerberg has been hired as our Religious Education Director. This will be a part time position, coordinating the activities of our teaching staff and taking the lead in curriculum selection.
Betsy has provided the following biographical information:
"I attended the UUCGT from the ages of 6-17 and recently began attending again, after a long hiatus, during which I studied elementary education and taught Pre-K through 3rd grade in Thailand, Syria, Vietnam, and Austria. My husband, Kris, and I moved back to Traverse City last year with our two boys, Elliot (2.5 years old) and Oliver (10 months old), to be closer to family. The religious education I received through the UUCGT was fundamental to the development of who I am, and continue to strive to be, today. I look forward to supporting the next generation of UU's as they develop their senses of compassion, acceptance, inclusion, peace, curiosity, and respect for all."
Temporary Music Director
We are pleased to announce that we have hired Susan Holmes-Glazier as our Temporary Music Director until the search for a new Music Director is completed. Susan has been our Teacher for our K-5 children and was Music Director at her UU Congregation in Virginia prior to moving to Traverse City. She will be juggling both jobs during the next few months. The search for a permanent Music Director is underway with a search committee consisting of Karl Love, Donna Stein-Harris, Mary Anne Rivers, Kim Gribi and Judy Weaver.

End Note...
"
The purpose of life is not to be happy.
It is to be useful,
to be honorable,
to be compassionate,
to have it make some difference
that you have
lived and lived well.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ What lies behind us
and what lies before us
are tiny matters
compared to what lies within us."
