Reflection...
Dear UUCGT Congregation,
Thank you so much for your generous gift of $1,000 dated February 15th. We certainly appreciate your trust in us and continued support of Safe Harbor's mission - to serve as a compassionate safety net in our community, meeting the most basic survival needs of men and women suffering from homelessness.
As you know, Safe Harbor continues as a crucial part of the Continuum of Care in the Grand Traverse community as we remain entirely supported by the generosity of donors and the passionate commitment extended by countless church and community volunteers. Through these efforts, Safe Harbor hosted 300 individuals (10,000 bed nights and 14,000 evening meals) experiencing a very busy season this winter as the need for emergency shelter in our community remains great.
Thank you once again for your commitment to Safe Harbor and its effort to provide a secure and warm overnight seasonal shelter for the most vulnerable members of our community.
You are a blessing.
Sincerely,
Wayce Sterenberg, Treasurer
Safe Harbor of Grand Traverse, Inc.

End Note...
Some Say You're Lucky
Some say you're lucky
If nothing shatters it.
But then you wouldn't
Understand poems or songs.
You'd never know
Beauty comes from loss.
It's deep inside every person:
A tear tinier
Than a pearl or thorn.
It's one of the places
Where the beloved is born.
