Staying Connected, Summer of 2020...
We return to our "regular" Zoom format and time Sunday Service for July 5th!
We are privileged to welcome a colleague of Rev. Cathy's to the pulpit. Reverend Dr. W. Fred Wooden has recently retired as Senior Minister at Fountain Street Church in Grand Rapids, MI. Previous to that tenure he served UU churches in Brooklyn, N.Y., Austin, TX and rural Massachusetts.
He has delivered the sermon "Things to Do in Church When You're Dead" to rave reviews from congregations across the country. The title alone should carry sufficient intrigue to draw you to join the 10:30 service this week.
You can start signing in at 10am for visiting before the 10:30 Service.
The following Sunday, the 12th, is the All-Michigan UU Service. More information on that next week.
Rev. Cathy will be back on August 11.
For the time being, the office has adopted the
"Let's Stay Connected!
" motto we found in a graphic we chose for the Beacon. It se
ems a fitting, over-arching theme for this time of so much uncertainty and
dis
connection.
THE TIMES, THEY ARE
A-CHANGIN' FOLKS!
That applies to the UUCGT Office, too...
For at least his first week or two, Guy will be in the office!
Office hours will be
9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Tuesday through Friday
.
Again, note the change! Office hours used to be M-Th.

RE RETURNS!
Director Betsy Hammerberg Sends the following message:
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Our RE Summer Fun Kits are almost ready to be delivered! Each week's kit will include supplies for a STEM challenge, a "Think Outside the Box" drawing challenge, a nature-based building challenge, and a community building photo challenge. As UU's we value science, independent thinking, our natural world, and taking care of our fellow humans. We look forward to emphasizing these values while having fun!
We will meet on Zoom each week at 10:00 for sharing of projects and fun Zoom games.
We are also happy to welcome Amanda Sparks and Ariel Love to the RE team for the duration of our virtual meetings, where they will alternate weeks as RE assistants. You will recognize Ariel and Amanda from the UUCGT nursery, where they worked as assistants until the closure, and we are looking forward to having them join us!

End Note...
How should we like it if stars should burn
With a passion for us we could not return?
If equal affection cannot be,
Let the more loving one be me.
