Minister's Musings...
This Sunday we will celebrate the legacy of the founders of this congregation as we pause in gratitude for the many gifts of love and service that led to the founding of this Unitarian Universalist beloved community over fifty years ago.
The former president of our Unitarian Universalist seminary in Berkeley, California, Starr King School for the Ministry, Rev. Rebecca Parker wrote a beautiful poem called, "Choose to Bless the World." UUCGT's founders and those who continue to "keep this circle whole" made a choice to bless the world.
Rebecca Parker's poem reminds us that we can use our gifts to bless or curse the world, but that when we are committed to use our gifts to bless the world, that choice in turn will bless us; an embrace of kindness that encompasses all of life, even ours. Even m
ore,
the choice will draw you into community...
the endeavor shared,
the heritage passed on,
the companionship of struggle,
the importance of keeping faith,
the life of ritual and praise,
the comfort of human friendship,
the company of earth,
the chorus of life welcoming you.
None of us alone can save the world.
Together - that is another possibility, waiting.
See you in church,
L, Cathy

We will be joined by special guest ensemble, TC Sings.
We are currently looking for suggestions and recommendations for other local or semi-local musicians we could invite to share their story, insight, and talents in regards to the history of racism and oppression in our country.

Ministerial Search Process - Summary Report:
A congregational gathering was held Sunday, January 19 to discuss the Ministerial Search process and to take the first steps towards selecting a Search Committee.
Those attending were divided into small groups and asked to consider three questions:
(1) What do you bring to the congregation?
(2) What do you receive from the congregation?
(3) What are the good qualities needed by someone to serve on the search committee?
An informative series of slides explaining the Search process and more detailed information about the responses can be found at:
