Reflection...
Rise Up
Rises light,
Rises life,
Rises spring.
May we join with the miracle that is springtime,
and enter into life with lightness and joy.
Out of the spirit
Rises faith,
Rises hope,
May we join with the miracle that is Easter time, and enter into life with hope and love.
Please join the whole community this Sunday for Easter morning worship, friends. Let us rise, rise, rise in hope and love.
In blessing -
Rabbi Chava
PS - There will be no 9 AM programming this Sunday.

Sunday Service
Sunday, April 1 -
Rabbi Chava Bahle, Andi Kramer
10:30 AM Easter All Congregation Service:
"Rise Up!"
"As the first hint of green begins to peek through the barren ground, as that little sprig grows into a healthy stem, as that stem grows into a stalk and forms a bud, as that bud slowly opens with each new day, to form a yellow daffodil, let us be, like that first hint of green, renewed by the warmth of the sun's rays and ready to emerge with a new energy, ready to face the day." From "
Like the First Hint of Green"
by Jennifer McGlothin.
Sometimes with all the hardships of the world, we need a peaceful morning of hope.
Children remain in the sanctuary with families during this special service.

Sundays in April ~
preK - 8th grade
We're very excited to be continuing our "Environment Horcrux" in April!
We will spend our time engaging in lessons and stories that promote environmental stewardship, as well as considering the ways in which we can get involved in our community in this regard. Some of the wonderful ways we will accomplish this will include working with the Landscape Committee on learning about native plants, invasive species, and planning our own Children's Garden.
Suggested reading for families/parents this month!
In April, we have a lovely poetry collection that coincides with our consideration of the Transcendentalists in Sunday Services. I will be using selections from this collection in Story Wisdoms.
Poetry for Kids: Walt Whitman, edited by Karen Karbiener, PhD -
A 2018 Notable Poetry Book for Children (National Council of Teachers of English)
Introduce your children to the beautiful words of classic American poet, Walt Whitman. Poetry for Kids: Walt Whitman makes the work engaging and easy to understand...This collection of thirty-five of Walt's best works has been carefully curated for kids. Each piece of work is lovingly illustrated, and are both presented and explained by New York University professor Karen Karbenier, PhD, a primary authority on Whitman's poetry.
Walt Whitman includes enlightening commentary for each poem, definitions of key words, and a foreword by the expert so that kids, or even parents new to poems, will understand. Starting off with "I Hear America Singing," the collection includes excerpts from "Song of Myself," "O Captain! My Captain!", poems from Leaves of Grass, and many more thought-provoking, descriptive, and kid-friendly selections". Go to

2018-2019 Pledge Drive
Have you "Shown Up" yet to support our UUCGT Congregation for the 2018-2019 fiscal year?
If you have not already done so, please make your financial pledge for 2018-2019 now by returning your pledge form or by visiting our website www.uucgt.org.
Your increased pledge will help us meet our goal of full payment of UUA dues and giving modest increases to our hard working staff. You should have received a pledge packet at Sunday Services or through the mail. If you have not, or have misplaced your packet, please call our Business Administrator, Sheri Novak, and she will send you another packet.
Thanks for your continued support of UUCGT.
