UUCM Monthly News
September 2021
A Stable Faith
As we prepare to begin another year together in the life of UUCM, the Soul Matters curriculum greets us with the theme Embracing Possibility. This seems appropriate on so many levels -- not the least of which is a question on many of our hearts: “Will we be able to worship in person this year?” Read more here.
UUCM Services - Time of Transition
9:30 Summer Services on Zoom End After September 12
Each week you can enjoy a restful but energizing worship experience with a thoughtful message or stimulating discussion. Music, poetry, art, story, and our familiar rituals will glue it all together. Weekly updates will provide details about the upcoming services.
10:30 Services Start September 19 on Zoom
The theme for September is: Embracing Possibility. And the real secret is remembering that "Why not?” is something we all have to say and sing together. Read more about the theme.
Reopening Taskforce Update
We are still technically in Step III of our Re-Opening Plan, meaning small groups can meet within the building, and we are available for somewhat limited rentals (group size determined by rooms being used, physical distancing, and the use of masks being recommended).

UUCM will be selling Apple Crisp on Saturday, October 9, in our booth on the Community House Lawn (corner of Elm and Union Streets). We need your help to make this a success by:
  • Baking a 9x12 apple crisp. Or bake more than one! A delicious recipe will be provided!
  • Offering to staff the booth for an hour or two.
Please contact Jane Mika or Dona Eaton to offer your help!
Last Chance to Register for Ferry Beach (Sept 10-12)
Registration ends August 28th.
Second Friday Song Circle - Sept 10
Or, as we call it on our Facebook page: Milford NH Rise Up Singing!
https://www.facebook.com/MilfordRUS Sing with us in the Shelley Garden at church. Bring a chair, or grab one from inside the church basement hall. If it is rainy or too windy, we'll sing inside. We sing for a few hours; a water bottle is helpful. We have extra Rise Again Songbooks for you. Acoustic instruments welcome! Contact Amy for more information.
Small Group Ministry (SGM) to Start New Sessions in October
UUCM has several facilitator-led SGM groups that meet for 2 hours twice a month where members share what’s happening in their lives and discuss a topic. SGM is a good way to maintain contact, get to know a few people better, and enjoy meaningful sharing with a small group of 8-10 people. More info will be forthcoming, but if this is a program that interests you, let Rev. Shayna know.
What in God's Name
"What in God's Name" is a podcast featuring Rev. Shayna and her good friend and colleague, Rev. Chris Owen. The show runs about 20-25 minutes and explores current events through the lenses of theology and philosophy. Although they are taking a summer break, you can still access the podcasts here: Whatingods.com.
