We Begin Again in Love

Rev Lee Anne Washington

If done well, being human is a humbling experience. None of us are perfect and all of us have fallen short in some way at some time. Join us as Rev. Lee Anne explores what happens when we are willing to repair our relationship with ourselves and with others.

Rev. Lee Anne invites you to a discussion on this month's Soul Matters topic, Repair, in the East Room immediately following the service. Grab a cup of coffee and join her there!

The Share the Plate recipient for November will be the Education Law Center. The ELC pursues these goals: 1) Ensure all children in Pennsylvania have access to quality public educational services and to the full range of educational options that are available to their peers; 2) Hold officials and policymakers accountable for complying with the laws protecting the educational rights of the most disadvantaged children; 3) Keep state laws and state and local policies fair, aimed at ensuring equal access to quality schools, and reducing disproportionality along race and class lines. Clean up Party - November 17th

Buildings and Grounds are requesting your assistance in removing accumulated, unused stuff from the shed, silos and various spaces that over time have become quite cluttered. We need help to restore these areas so they can be used more efficiently. Lunch will be provided.  Work clothes and gloves are suggested.

If there are things that you may have left at the church you will need to retrieve them so they are not discarded.

Jesus Discussion Group

3rd Sunday of November, the 17th, from noon to 1:15 PM on Zoom and at church (upstairs, follow the yellow signs). What are the pictures [plural!] the gospels paint about Jesus? We’ll begin the story in this session. See Tony Palermo for details.

We Have a Refugee Family to Welcome Home!

If you would like to be a part of this exciting opportunity to live into our 7 principles, please click on the Sign-Up Genius link and claim an item to donate. You can drop off your item(s) at church anytime between now and November 25th in the East room by the sign that says "Donations for Welcome Home Refugee Set-Up."

Thanks in advance for your generosity and for welcoming this family as they arrive in Pittsburgh!

Any questions, please contact allysonzadnick@uucnh.org

Adopt an Owl Class

The 8-9th grade OWL class is a very robust curriculum with many classes. In an effort to get them all in, we have made the classes 5-8:30 on two Sundays a month. They start this Sunday 11/17. This is during dinner time. Our hope is that individuals in the church will adopt a class to supply food and/or drink for the facilitators and youth. You do not have to have a child in the class to adopt one. If you are interested please sign up at this link. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Parents and Caregivers as Sexuality Educators

Do you want to feel more comfortable talking to your kids about sex and sexuality? Join fellow parents as we work through the "Parents and Caregivers as Sexuality Educators" curriculum provided by the UUA. While this group is being held concurrently with OWL, you do not need to have a child in OWL to participate - all are welcome! Classes start soon - talk to Abby Vaughn or contact cyfdteam@uucnh.org if you are interested in joining us!

Ukulele Group

The Ukulele group meets on second and fourth Monday 7-8 pm in the East Room. Beginners are always welcome. Contact ukegroup@uucnh.org with any questions.

A sorrow from Isaac Elias: I am having a really hard time and could use your positive vibes, or prayers, or whatever you do. Thanks

In that instance, just contact a member of the Lay Pastoral Care Team (LPCT) in person or submit your Joys & Sorrows electronically by clicking here. Once submitted, the form is sent to all LPCT members. (Chris Hill, Ruth Horwitz, Susan Powers, Lynne Herchenroether, Inga Burton-Smith, and Marsha Pedone).
