Life Is What You Make of It, So Beautiful, or So What?
Peggy Fallon
A Paul Simon song from 2011 called, "So Beautiful, or So What" musically illustrates the theme that we can choose how we take the things that happen: Life is what we make of it. However we make those choices, the first step to making the most beautiful choices is to be aware that we are making a choice.

The Share the Plate recipient for November will be the Education Law Center. The ELC pursues these goals: 1) Ensure all children in Pennsylvania have access to quality public educational services and to the full range of educational options that are available to their peers; 2) Hold officials and policymakers accountable for complying with the laws protecting the educational rights of the most disadvantaged children; 3) Keep state laws and state and local policies fair, aimed at ensuring equal access to quality schools, and reducing disproportionality along race and class lines. Concerns weighing on your heart and what brings you peace
|
At the Annual Pittsburgh Cluster Assembly, Rev. Lee Anne invited those gathered to write on the back of paper doves what concerns were weighing heavy on their hearts. On the front, she invited them to write what gives them peace, which can also be expressed as what does peace look like. On the Sunday immediately following the assembly, Rev. Lee Anne asked the same of our congregation. To the left is an image of the mural with the doves.
| |
This is a word cloud of all the concerns. | This is a word cloud of what peace looks like.

A Sorry: from Susan Minton Three individuals in this beloved community have a mutual friend. Her name is Mary. Mary has been undergoing aggressive treatment for lymphoma in her brain.
