The Stories We Tell Ourselves

Rev. Lee Anne Washington

Since we all have a story to tell - many actually – we can pick and choose what aspects of our stories we want to emphasize. An important part of recovery is creating a story that affirms our traumas, our challenges, and our disappointments while also finding something in the experience that leaves open the possibility of hope. Come join us as we explore the stories we tell ourselves.

Immediately following the service, join us for lunch (free sandwiches and a soup sale) and the mid-year congregational meeting.

The Share the Plate recipient for January is Fair Districts PA, a nonpartisan, all-volunteer, statewide organization focused on making state government work for you by codifying a fair redistricting process that makes your legislator effective. When legislative leaders manipulate district boundaries to keep themselves in office or to oust their opposition, we all lose. Fair Districts PA is focusing on a constitutional amendment to create an independent citizen’s commission in time for the next redistricting process. Donations cover expenses of the organization only; there are no salaried staff.

They are currently staying with relatives in Simi Valley just North of the Palisades Fire and keeping an eye on the fires in case they need to evacuate.
