Living into Our Mission through Covenant Groups
Rev. Lee Anne
UUCNH has a mission. We say it every Sunday: By building a loving religious community that nourishes the spirit, celebrates life, and cherishes the connectedness of all things, we will transform ourselves and our world.
This Sunday, Rev. Lee Anne will explore how participation in a covenant group satisfies all aspects of our mission. We will also hear from current members.

MINISTER'S SEPTEMBER MESSAGE
If you happened to miss viewing Rev. Lee Anne's September E-blast message last week, you can still view it by clicking below.
FRIENDLY REMINDER TO UPDATE YOUR PERSONAL CONTACT LIST
If you have received or sent a message to minister@uucnh.org and instead of it saying Rev. Lee Anne it says Rev. Jane, it is because you need to make a change within your own personal contact list. The change you would need to make is to replace the incorrect name with the correct one, to then be properly associated with the email address. This same rule of thumb can be applied to any email address where the name of the individual has changed, but the email address remains the same.

SHARE THE PLATE RECIPIENT
The September Share the Plate recipient will be the Hebrew Aid Immigration Society (HIAS). From their website: "HIAS provides vital services to refugees and asylum seekers around the world and advocates for their fundamental rights so they can rebuild their lives." In the wake of the Tree of Life trial and sentencing, HIAS released this statement. Here you can find more information on the services HIAS offers.
You may donate by September 30th in the following ways: 1) Place cash or check in the BLUE envelope in the offering plate during Sunday services; 2) Mail a check to the church office; or 3) Go to the church website's Donation Page and select Special Offerings. Checks should be made payable to UUCNH, with "Share the Plate" or "HIAS" in the memo line. If using the website Donation Page, please be sure to include the words "Share the Plate" and/or "HIAS" when making your donation.
Share the plate totals are not fully tabulated by the end of the month but will be shared when finalized. Thank you for your patience and your generosity!

From Diane Somers Robertson: This past month has been many little joys to help get through one huge Sorrow. In August Jim’s Aunt Betty celebrated her 99th birthday and we saw a lot of family we haven’t seen in a long time. Jim and I celebrated our 32nd Anniversary.
But then we found out that my mom, Jackie Somers, had breast cancer. (She was diagnosed in 2014 and chose no treatment). On September 14, she died in her sleep. She is out of pain and we believe is with my Dad. Thank you to UUCNH (our 2nd home) especially Kathy Ke, who helped us get hospice care for her, and John Ballance, who has been a calm and steady ear for me as I’ve cried and bared my heart and soul to him.

Note: There are times when you may not be able to share during service but want the Congregation to know what is on your heart. In that instance, just contact a member of the Lay Pastoral Care Team (LPCT) in person or submit your Joys & Sorrows electronically by clicking here. Once submitted, the form is sent to all LPCT members. (Chris Hill, Ruth Horwitz, Susan Powers, Lynn Richards, Lynne Herchenroether, Inga Burton-Smith). Please be sure to submit your item by NOON on Saturday at the latest, so we get it in time for Service. Also, LPCT emails are forward to all members of the team. We welcome your sharing and would be honored to carry forth your message.
