Sunday Service

December 15th, 2024

10:30 am (EDT)

Would you Like to Hold the Baby?

UUCNH's Children's Pageant

The Christmas story reminds us that each new life is a gift. It is an invitation to nurture, care for, delight in, and take responsibility for, another human being. Through the rich imagery of the beautiful nativity story, we discover truths that are still relevant today.

Immediately following the service, a discussion of the Denominational Task Force's report will take place in the sanctuary. Grab your coffee and head back in for this important topic.

The Share the Plate recipient for December will be North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO). NHCO addresses the needs of people in crisis, hardship and poverty in northern Allegheny County. They provide a variety of services including food pantries, utilities and other emergency assistance, employment programs, senior services, Ask the Attorney, and tax preparation for qualifying individuals. UUCNH regularly participates in NHCO special collections such as the recent Thanksgiving on Every Table collection and current Holiday Toy Shop collection.

Coffee House December - Tonight!

UUCNH Coffee House is once again showcasing our church’s best talents, and that includes you! On the second Friday (usually) each month, the West Room stage will be an open mic for anyone interested in singing a song, telling a joke, telling an interesting story, ranting about the news… well, not that—let’s keep it non-political. Or just come to be part of the audience!

Dessert will be available in Friendship Hall!!!

Our next session is: Friday December 13th, at 7:30 pm.

Mitten Tree - Donations Wanted

On Sunday, December 22nd, we will hear the story of The Mitten Tree (written by Candace Christiansen and illustrated by Elaine Greenstein).

A second tree in the sanctuary will be designated as our “Mitten Tree.” As you remember, please bring unwrapped new mittens scarves and socks to place on the boughs. Wrapped packages of men's and women’s underwear to go under the tree are also appreciated. There will be boxes and baskets to receive them. Our children and youth will decorate the Mitten Tree with your donations during the service on the 22nd.These much-needed items will be delivered to a shelter after the holidays.

Board Meeting December 17th

Attendees will be muted upon joining and we respectfully ask that questions and comments be reserved until the end of the meeting. Please click here to join the meeting with passcode UUCNH. The agenda for this meeting can be found here.
