Imaginary Messengers
Rev. Lee Anne Washington
Ever wonder whence came an idea that just popped into your head? Ever get stuck on a problem and then out of nowhere the answer, or at least an answer, made itself known? Join Rev. Lee Anne as she explores the religious and philosophical concepts of imaginary messengers who inspire us and guide us.
This Sunday will celebrate Gavin Connor's bridging from youth to young adult.

May 11th, & 18th RE Classes
(Theme is Imagination) Life can sometimes seem locked in place and set in stone. Imagination helps us see that this isn't true. We say that Spring brings new life and new possibilities. This month let us realize that imagination does the same!

Quest for Belief This Sunday!
Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all proclaim the existence of a single God, but are we talking about the white-bearded old man in the clouds, the wrathful champion of ancient armies, a formless source of wisdom, or your best friend in floppy sandals? What were you taught about God as a child, and how did your perception change over time? What do our current working images of God – or not! – tell us about ourselves?
All are welcome to join this last discussion before our summer hiatus: Sunday, May 11th, 9:15-10:15am upstairs in the Youth Room.

Open Mic Night Moved to Tomorrow (Saturday Night)!!
This has been postponed to Saturday May 10th at 7:30 pm due to the Bellwood Art Show.
You are invited to be entertained by your talented friends. The West Room stage will be an open mic for anyone interested in singing a song, telling a joke, telling an interesting story, or ranting about the news — let’s keep it non-political.
Here's an idea -- make it a date night! Go out with some friends for dinner and come by the UUCNH Open Mic Night (formerly known as Coffeehouse) for entertainment. You'll have this opportunity every second Friday of the month at 7:30pm

Area Meeting on Achieving Fair Districts for PA. Tomorrow!
Join us on May 10th at 2:00pm to learn about the harms of gerrymandering and what we can do about it. RSVP using the instructions on the flyer here.
The mapping of voting districts to give unfair advantage to whatever political party happens to be the majority (gerrymandering), has led to hobbling litigation and political gridlock at PENNSYLVANIA’s legislative level. Current legislation under consideration would amend the Pennsylvania Constitution to create an independent citizen redistricting commission.
