A Servant's Heart
Scott Shaffer
Executive Director, NHCO
As part of fulfilling our mission, UUCNH is committed to supporting North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO). They receive food from our pantry, mittens from our mitten tree, and toys from our toy drive. Last month they were our share the plate partner.
Join us on Sunday, as we learn more about this amazing organization and how serving others benefits both the served and the servers.
During the duration of our OWL program, all children should report directly to their respective classrooms.

Quest For Belief - This Sunday
Love, Marriage, and the Baby Carriage: Part 2! The last 50 years have seen dramatic changes in societal acceptance of alternative concepts of marriage and family. But which changes are for the good? Should legal definitions be freed from religious traditions? Is what’s best for individuals also best for their children? What role should our UU community play when it comes to “family?”
All are welcome to drop in and join the discussion! This Sunday, March 9th, upstairs in the Youth Room from 9:15-10:15am.

Meditation - This Monday

Bellwood KidStuff Sale Donation
(From Melissa Nelson)
[Putting on my UUCNH hat], I’m in charge of disbursing any donations that are left at the end of the KidStuff Sale. If anyone would like to help pack up donations, we would welcome any help starting around noon on Saturday, March 15th. I’m also happy to give volunteer hours for any youth that help. Even just an hour of help would mean a lot! Thanks!

Open Mic Night
You are invited to be entertained by your talented friends. The West Room stage will be an open mic for anyone interested in singing a song, telling a joke, telling an interesting story, or ranting about the news — let’s keep it non-political.
Here's an idea -- make it a date night! Go out with some friends for dinner and come by the UUCNH Open Mic Night (formerly known as Coffeehouse) for entertainment. You'll have this opportunity every second Friday of the month at 7:30pm

- Political Analysis – Understand the threats to democracy and justice.
- Collective Action – Organize with others to block anti-democratic forces and build a just and loving world.
Like those who came before us, we must be ready—ready to resist injustice, protect democracy, and create a future where love and dignity prevail. The Gathering is a space to find inspiration, connect with others, and take action that matters.

Our Caring Community Needs You
Are you able to:
- provide companionship to a person who is lonely?
- lend some tools to a fellow congregant?
- offer rides to the grocery store or to the doctors office?
- provide a meal to a family that has had a recent birth or loss?
- hold a baby or play with a toddler so that the parents can get some work done or take a nap?
- do small household jobs like hanging pictures, weeding a small garden, cutting a lawn?
If you said yes to any of these questions, the Caring Community team would love to hear from you. Please email caringcommunity@uucnh.org and tell us how you can help. Your name will be added to a list of people that we will reach out to when a need arises.
