Joys and Sorrows

A Joy from Randy Minnich Susan Powers is at home recovering from a partial right knee replacement performed on Thursday. She is still in pain but is icing the knee, doing physical therapy while she recovers from her recent surgery.

A sorrow and a joy from Anne Moore Keith was admitted to the hospital with multiple pulmonary embolisms and DVT's. Keith was able to come home sooner than expected. Apparently the new medication worked well and he was discharged early.

Note: When you want to share a joy or sorrow submit it electronically by clicking here by Saturday. Alternatively, you may can fill out a card as you enter the sanctuary on Sunday.

Robyn's new hours

Due to my change from Office Administrator to Congregational Life Administrator, there is a need to update my hours. I am always flexible and will help anyone in any compacity I am able, when asked.

I am required to devote 20 hours to Religious Exploration and 20 hours to the Office Administration. There will be some cross over and that is ok. I intend to be in the office most days of the week. However, I will need a little more flexibility so I may be absent occasionally.

Tuesday - Friday 9-5 and some evenings

Sunday 8:30am- 2:30pm

Saturday and Monday off unless needed

Admin times- Wednesday morning, Thursday, and Friday

Religious Exploration times - Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon

Please know you can ask me for anything at any time; I am always happy to assist.

Celebrating Life

Bet you didn't know that gratitude grows on trees!

You can help our tree leaf out by expressing your gratitude for someone or something here at UUCNH. Print it on a leaf and affix it to the tree.

If you would rather, you may share your gratitude by printing on a dove and affixing it wherever you want.

By summer's end, we hope to have a fully leafed tree and a sky full of doves. Let's make it happen!

Ukulele Group

The Ukulele group meets on the second and fourth Monday at 7 pm in the East Room. Beginners are always welcome. Contact ukegroup@uucnh.org with any questions.

The Compassionate Service Team thanks you!

Earlier this week, in our latest collaboration with Jewish Family Community Services (JFCS), we were able to provide a variety of kitchen items that were so generously donated by friends and members of UUCNH to a local refugee family. Thank you for your continued generosity in making a recently arrived refugee family feel more at home in Pittsburgh, and thanks to Chuck Berry for delivering the goods!

Cherishing the Connectedness of All Things

General Assembly 2025

Your UUCNH delegates would like to share a few “pearls” discovered or re-learned at GA. What are pearls you ask? Pearls are those nuggets of information you can use to make a difference, moments of enlightenment, or simply being reminded of something which has new, refreshed meaning now.

Our feedback will be as diverse as we, your delegates are. To read our reflections on UUA GA 2025, click here.

Current Share the Plate Recipient

Northside Common Ministries

The July Share the Plate recipient will be Northside Common Ministries (NCM). From their website: "At Northside Common Ministries, we are committed to building those bridges that connect our neighbors in need to an improved quality of life, while tearing down the walls that keep the hungry and homeless from success." NCM's work is supported by over 60 church congregations, including UUCNH, that provide dinners for the Pleasant Valley Men's Shelter. One of our covenant groups is providing a dinner this month. For more information: http://ncmin.org/

From you I receive, to you I give, together we share and from this we live.
