As UUs, we might assume that many of us are on the same page when it comes to our electoral preferences, or at least in the same chapter. But we are more diverse than we may know- and affirming that diversity is a worthy challenge.

This all-ages service invites us to remember our loved ones who have died through a ritual of remembrance, sharing our gratitude for the love shared. Everyone is invited to bring a photograph, or memento of loved ones to place on the altars of remembrance.

Board of Trustees Meeting
Tuesday, October 25 6:00 PM in the Johnson Room
Break bread and socialize with us starting at 6:00 PM and the meeting begins at 6:30 PM. Guests are invited to address the board during the guest comments at the beginning and observe the remainder of the meeting. At this meeting we will revisit a previously postponed discussion of the role of youth representatives on the board and discuss a communication plan for keeping the congregation up-to-date on the implications of Rev. Sangha Buddhist Group
Tuesday, October 25 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary
We will start the meeting with 30 minutes of meditation followed by a dharma reading and discussion. You need not be a Buddhist to attend, just interested in your spiritual growth. If you have questions, contact Donna Featherston at 602-997-7996 or Katherine Kruse at 602-369-9477
Community Night
Thursday, October 27 at 6:00 PM in the Johnson Room
Community nights are opportunities for us to gather together and eat in community.
Each Thursday in October & November, we gather together for a meal at 6:00 PM, followed by programming for adults and children. Bring your appetite, enthusiasm and a side dish or dessert to share if you're able. The suggested donation is $5/adults, $2/children under 10, $10/family. You are welcome to bring a sack supper if you prefer.  The meal this week is Veggie Enchiladas

Young Adult Small Group

The young adult small group is a place for "younger" adults to get together and talk about issues important to us. We provide a safe space to share ideas and challenge each other respectfully. UUJAZ Issue & Action Day
Saturday, October 29 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM at the UU Congregation in Surprise
Join UUs from around the state to learn and plan for action. The day will include a panel of speakers offering updates on "the state of" UUJAZ's five issue areas, a delicious local lunch, and facilitated break-out sessions.  
The five focus Issue Areas for this year are Economic Justice, Racial Justice, Water, Immigration, and Education. Featured speakers include Michael Soto from Arizona Community Action Association, Jennifer Martin from the Sierra Club, and Carlos Garcia from Puente Human Rights Movement.
