Theologically Diverse, Radically Inclusive, Justice Centered
Service Leader:  Rev. Margret A. O'Neall
Sunday, April 15, 9:30 AM & 11:15 AM
The powerful vision of this congregation inspires and challenges us, calling us to imagine new ways of thinking, doing, being in the world. We rise to the challenge of moving beyond the familiar to create new possibility, a new reality we can barely imagine, our promise to the world.

How We Change The World
Service Leader:  Rev. Nathan Hollister
Sunday, April 22, 9:30 AM & 11:15 AM
Trying times such as these are also the ideal environment for the emergence of countervailing power. This morning, Rev. Nathan Hollister will speak to the unique role we are called to, as Unitarian Universalists, in building the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.

Rev. Nathan Hollister is a third generation Unitarian Universalist who leads the ministry of Sacred Fire UU, which plants and grows covenanted communities with mostly unaffiliated young people. He is a social transformation trainer, working with clergy, community organizers, and other leaders to increase our collective impact toward justice, peace, and ecological sustainability. He lives in the mountains of North Carolina.

The Share the Plate today will be the  UUSC .
Share the Plate with UUSC
Sunday, April 22, 10:30 AM, 9:30 AM & 11:15 AM
The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC), a 77-year-old human rights organization grounded in UU values, advances human rights in three intersecting areas: Economic Justice, Environmental Justice & Climate Action, and Rights at Risk. UUCP’s Share-the-plate contributions would support UUSC’s three program areas, as well as research and advocacy that supplements direct humanitarian support.

Let's Show our Support for Emrys

It has been so rewarding for all of us to watch Emrys Staton learn and grow during his time as a ministerial intern and then as our Director of Pastoral and Justice Ministries. Now it is time for Emrys to launch to the next stage of his ministerial journey. At the Sunday service on April 29, he will offer his final sermon here, and we will celebrate and thank him. Emrys has invested his love, time, and talent in our UUCP community. Now, the Board of Trustees has created an opportunity to provide a financial gift to him, showing our gratitude and best wishes. You can make a tax-deductible contribution to a gift for Emrys (on or before April 30) by check payable to UUCP ("Emrys gift" in the memo line), through the website phoenixuu.org, click "Give" and enter your information, including the note "Emrys gift" in the optional memo. Please use the “One-Time Gift” option.

Ministerial Search Committee
The Board of Trustees thanks all who participated in the process that culminated in last Sunday’s election. During the canvassing stage of the process, UUCP members nominated more than 100 possible candidates, a truly astounding number! What a wonderful testament to the breadth and depth of leadership talent in our midst.

We are deeply grateful to the 10 outstanding congregation leaders who agreed to be nominated. As so many of you shared with us yesterday, each of the ten candidates is widely-respected and beloved at UUCP. These seven candidates were elected to serve on the Ministerial Search Committee:  Daisy Danforth, Gary Ezzell, Donna Featherston, Jan Kaplan, Carrie Lifshitz, Eric Muehlstedt and Jim Sorgatz.
