The Ritual of Transitions

There are so many transitions in our life during these times, but we are particularly moved by our graduates, who didn't get to have their proms, graduations or family celebrations. We'll be celebrating our special graduates (of all kinds) and sharing wisdom from them, to them and surrounding them with love.

Sunday’s Service online via Zoom.

This Sunday is Share the Plate Donation
UMOM New Day Centers has always been committed to keeping families, women, and youth safe and healthy through our shelter and services. This dedication takes on a whole new meaning during the COVID-19 pandemic. We now are working hard to provide masks and alter services to maintain social distancing and other protocols in addition to our continued commitment to shelter, services, and affordable housing. Your donations will work to help us maintain our new normal in a COVID-19 environment as well as support the additional 25 rooms we opened recently to meet the need for communities experiencing a higher level of homelessness due to economic strain. Thank you so much to the whole congregation of Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Phoenix for supporting our clients who are working hard to end their own homelessness! – Berkley Harris, UMOM’s Community Outreach Coordinator.

Help Us with a Monthly Food & Supply Drive for our Navajo Nation Community
We are looking to take food, household items and medical supplies directly to those in need in the Navajo Nation--the third largest COVID-19 hotspot in the country. Our congregant, Ceyshe Napa has family members in the Navajo Nation who have died, are currently sick and are recovering from COVID-19. For a community that is already challenged with lack of water, easy access to reasonably-priced food and financial means, the pandemic has taken a devastating toll. We will be collecting food and supplies and taking them up north to Ceyshe’s family (via a safe transfer point) so they can distribute it to their network of family and community members. We will do this until the urgency passes.  Please use this form to let us know if/how you would be willing to be involved in this.

UUCP Mavericks Art Quilters Exhibit
We are so fortunate to have the Mavericks Art Quilters (Mavericks) currently showing in our sanctuary. Unfortunately, this art show comes at the time when UUCP will be closed for some time. The photos in the video above will give you an idea of the amazing work in each of the pieces, even though we can’t see it live. The group has agreed to leave the quilts up.

Do you have something that you’d like to lead on Zoom to help us stay connected? Please send your ideas to Reverend Christine at .   We are always looking for new ways to connect as a community.
