Come watch the documentary about Waitstill and Martha Sharp, two American Unitarian Universalists who agreed to move to Europe in the 1930s to help refugees flee Nazi-occupied countries. Their courage and creativity, many were able to escape persecution and death. Their efforts led to the founding of our current UUSC. After the film, Bunny Hodas will give some updates on the current work of the UUSC, and Libby Walker will talk about our congregation's Refugee Assistance Program.

UUCP Book Corner

The UUCP Community Book Corner is the first Sunday of each month.  
December's theme is Prayer and Practice and there are three featured books, one each, for adults, young adults and children.
There will be other books, as well, which promote our UU values.

Justice Ministry December Giving Opportunities
Stop by the back table on Sundays, Dec 4th and 11th to pick up information on how you can help the Refugee Assistance program assist Eritrean refugees, and Maryland School by bringing board games, balls, and other sports equipment for family events at the school.  Donations gratefully accepted through December 18.

Ileana & Celso's Trip to Mexico

After completing the UU Borders Trip in Tijuana Mexico and visiting the UU Fellowship of San Miguel de Allende in Guanajuato, Celso and Ileana are back in Phoenix. They are grateful for all thoughts and prayers for their safe return home and invite you to join them for a presentation on their trip experiences and reflections. Snacks will be provided. 
Christmas Caroling

If you enjoy singing Christmas carols and spreading cheer, please join us for our congregation's annual afternoon of caroling! We'll meet at UUCP at 1:00 PM, sing a few carols together, and then spend a relaxed afternoon visiting and singing to UUCP elders who are rarely able to attend services. Outdoor Group Hike

The Outdoor Group arranges day hikes twice a month (second and fourth Saturdays during the winter months).  We invite everyone who likes being outdoors to join us.  Bring a friend.  Our next hike is at Cave Creek Regional Park.  8:00 AM coffee social @ Starbucks at 4815 E. Carefree Highway, Cave Creek, AZ 85331. 8:30 meeting place Cave Creek Regional Park. Young Adult Small Group

Sangha Buddhist Group

Come one, come all to the new small group at UUCP. This small group will discuss the monthly theme in a small group format. Small Groups provide a space to tend to your heart and spirit. They follow the monthly worship themes and offer a way to engage the themes in your daily life and grow and learn with a group while sharing your own story, insights and learnings. Each group is led by a trained facilitator. Each group also engages in a service project at least once during the year to serve the congregation or wider community.

Child Dedications at Christmas Eve Services
