THIS WEEK'S
SUMMER DISCUSSION SERVICE

|
Sunday, July 14, 2024 - 10 a.m.
"Favorite Music - Yours, Mine, Ours"
Bring a CD to the July 14 service to share a favorite piece of music with others. Whether it’s balm for the soul, energy to get moving, or something else, music helps us along the many paths of life. Pop, classical, jazz, bluegrass, and folk are all welcome. Reasons for your choice are also welcome but not required. We are guessing that selections should be about two to four minutes in length. Since this is a first-time experience, we may need to be flexible.

Beloveds,
I want to thank your leadership for the warm welcome and look forward to getting to know you, both individually and as a community. I love the description of this time of transition as a neutral zone. The earth models this for us every year in winter. Katherine May in her book Wintering talks about all the important things that nature does during the winter to make the growth of Spring possible. A neutral zone.
In my daily life, I practice small neutral zones with spiritual practices. Meditation, relationship, hospitality, there is no wrong way to do a spiritual practice and it can be whatever you can do with intention, focus, and grounds you to this one moment. I wish you the blessings of this time of transition and the neutral zone.
It is an honor to join this community.
Rev. Kathryn

LEADERSHIP MEETING
AUGUST 3 @ UUCR
| |
|
This meeting will be for every Friend and Member who would like to participate and for all committee chairs and members to attend. We will keep the meeting to the morning to let everyone enjoy the balance of the day, wherever they choose.
I have received some feedback, but I am looking for more! Everyone is encouraged to reach out to me directly.
Topics that have been suggested to date include Strategic Planning, Committee Membership & Budgets, and the Legacy Fund Update. What else would be useful to discuss as we enter a new church year? Let me know.
Very best,
MQ
