SUMMER DISCUSSION SERVICES

July 14 | "Favorite Music - Yours, Mine, Ours"
Bring a CD to the July 14 service to share a favorite piece of music with others. Whether it’s balm for the soul, energy to get moving, or something else, music helps us along the many paths of life. Pop, classical, jazz, bluegrass, and folk are all welcome. Reasons for your choice are also welcome but not required. We are guessing that selections should be about two to four minutes in length. Since this is a first-time experience, we may need to be flexible.
- Linda Weimer, Discussion Leader
July 21 | "Aging: What Really Matters in Old Age?"
- Joy Kim, Discussion Leader

We welcome Reverend Kathryn Adams (she/her) as our new half-time contract minister. Kathryn looks forward to a shared ministry of accompaniment and care, getting to know the congregation, and promoting UU values in love, care, and justice.
She is a minister in preliminary fellowship with a Masters of Divinity at Meadville Lombard Theological school. Her previous Masters is in Physician Assistant Practice from Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, IL. Her Bachelor of Science in Biology is from the State University of New York at Geneseo and she has had careers in medicine, military service, and policy/grants.

REBOOT!
GETTING READY FOR THE NEW CHURCH YEAR
| |
|
Transitions are a part of life and a part of a community. Reverend Kathryn Adams is our new minister and will be in the pulpit in September.
Starting this month, we are in what is frequently called (in the consulting world) a neutral zone. A neutral zone isn’t necessarily static, it can be a time of preparation for new beginnings.
With that thought in mind, I originally proposed a leadership meeting for later this month, but summer is here and July just isn’t going to work for many folks. With that in mind I would like to propose a leadership meeting on August 3rd.
This meeting will be for every Friend and Member who would like to participate and for all committee chairs and members to attend. We will keep the meeting to the morning, to let everyone enjoy the balance of the day, wherever they choose.
I would like feedback on this concept of preparing for the new church year, feel free to reach out to me directly. There will be more to come on the agenda in next week’s Reflections.
Very best,
MQ

New Fiscal Year Board & Elected Positions
and Committee & Special Group Members List
It's the new fiscal year, and I need your help to update the Board & Elected Positions and Committee & Special Group Members lists. I sent out the list as I knew it on Sunday, June 30, and a few people have responded with updates. This is the list as I know it as of today (CLICK HERE). Please check to see if you and the groups you belong to are listed correctly, and let me know of any changes that need to be made.
If you're interested in joining any of the committees, please contact the committee chair that is listed. I'm sure they'd appreciate your help!
Thanks,
Darlene, Office Administrator

At last week's discussion service, some congregants said they were too cold. In the past, we've had the AC temperature set at 74 while the building was occupied and 80 when unoccupied. In an effort to accommodate everyone's comfort, we will adjust the cooler setting up to 76 degrees.
