THIS WEEK'S WORSHIP SERVICE

Sunday, September 7 — 10 am

In-person and Zoom

"Ingathering & Water Communion: Emergence"

As we begin our congregational year together, let us focus on what wants to emerge for us in this time. What wants to emerge for us as individuals and what wants to emerge for us as a community. Bring your gifts, talents, hopes, and dreams to mix with our losses, grief, pain, and rage. Everything belongs in this time of upheaval; this is how we build our vision.

Please bring a small sample of water from your favorite place or summer jaunts.

UPCOMING WORSHIP SERVICES

SEP 14 | "Hearts in a Holy Place," Rev. Kimberly Debus, Guest Speaker — In-person & Zoom

How do we find joy and grace in a world full of despair? How do we stay soft when the world is so hard? We will consider these questions and explore practices for resilience in these times.

SEP 21 | "The Feminine Divine," Rev. Kathryn Adams, Minister

— In-person & Zoom

On this season of balance, let us recognize the Autumn Equinox, Mabon, and Bisexuality Day in a service honoring the feminine divine. Many of us are steeped in the Divine Masculine within many spiritual traditions. Today, let us explore the feminine divine in our lives, community, and across traditions.

SEP 28 | "Medicine for the Soul," Rev. Richard Speck, Guest Speaker

— In-person & Zoom

In these anxious times we seek ways to soothe ourselves. Some of us feel that we are soul weary and need help. Rev. Speck will explore what we mean by soul and some of the ways we can care for our soul and that of others. Bring your soul with you to church to find out what we can do.

MINISTER'S COLUMN

UUCR,

I am so excited to return to our ministry. Thank you to those who have led our amazing summer sessions and all the input and collaboration offered for this upcoming year. As I return, I am excited to start sponsoring a monthly "Multi-Generational Game Night" on the First Saturday of the month. I promise a collection of games, chess board, and cards. I will work toward being movie capable too.

I am currently planning on October 4th, November 1st, and Dec 6th and we can adjust and co-create this experience as we go. Remember, Joy is an Act of Resistance.

I am glad to connect as is helpful to process grief, to mourn, to celebrate, just listen, or honor whatever would be helpful. Over the summer, there have been many events that have challenged my worldview. So much seems unrecognizable as the world I thought I knew. As I grieved, I also found ways to live my values through these experiences. May this be our journey this year.

FIRST THURSDAY CONVERSATIONS

Today is September's "First Thursday Conversations." For any future months, please contact Rev. Kathryn to schedule appointments that begin at noon.
