Remembering to Breathe: Preparation for the Election
No one is calm going into this election - there’s simply too much on the line. But remembering who we are, why we’re here, and how to reach out in love - that’s always a worthy practice.

November's Theme is Healing
This week's RE Newsletter is HERE!
In this video I share with you one of the ways that I practice self-care: in my herb garden! I introduce you to two medicinal herbs that I like to use in remedies and we get to watch a bumble bee rolling in a calendula flower. Pure bliss.

Carol Layne shares, my younger brother David Miner, passed away Wednesday, October 28th, with his wife Tedie and other family members at his home in Houston. He was a lifelong championship level athlete who fought a rare aggressive form of cancer until the very end, unused to the idea his body could fail him. Having lost our father in a car wreck at a very early age, Dave who was an educator, devoted the last three decades of his life to the mission of teaching teens how to drive safely, ultimately developing and owning a small chain of Stay Safe Driving Schools that had an extremely high safety rating for its graduates. My husband Dave and I were able to spend time with him during the last weeks of his life saying our goodbyes.

Voting is no laughing matter. Well, actually, it is in this video. But it contains a serious message: Elections have consequences! So share this uplifting, fun and important message. It will be one more way to let our voices be heard! Almost as if you're voting twice.

Protecting Ourselves,
Protecting Our Communities
From the Regional Leads and Director of Congregational Life,
Unitarian Universalist Association
Dear Congregational Leader,
Like you, we’re keeping an eye on the news and wondering what the next few weeks might bring in terms of increased civic unrest and more assaults on our civil rights and the most vulnerable in our communities. While it’s impossible to predict what is to come – and we pray that our streets remain calm and our electoral process proceeds appropriately – it is wise to think ahead to what we can do to manage the unexpected and help out as our communities need us.

Digging the past on Manisses
Recent archaeological investigations on Block Island have provided evidence for 7,000 years of Native American occupation. On Thursday, November 5 at 7:00 p.m., Jay Waller, senior archaeologist at The Public Archaeology Laboratory, will talk about some of the highlights of recent archaeological discoveries that are contributing to our understanding of Manissean Indian life. To register for the Zoom presentation, send us an e-mail at pdmoac@aol.com.
