"What Music has

Meant to Us"

Harry Buffum and Mike Henry

Presented by longtime musicians, this service will demonstrate—with tunes by the South County Jammers—and offer reflections—by Harry Buffum and Mike Henry—on what music has meant in their lives and continues to mean.

Order of Service

The first two rows of congregational seating are reserved for a hearing-impaired zone.

Join us for All Ages Choir on the last Sundays of every month from 11:30-noon. This is for anyone who wants to practice hymns, learn new songs and have fun!

A Message from the Board President

The Evolution of Coffee Hour

Welcome Back!

Dear Friends, it was so good to gather together around our chalice last Sunday, singing and bringing both water and a willingness to contribute. We share the joy of growing families and new friends, and we look forward to our year together.

I want to alert you to a transformation! read more

Art in the Sanctuary

These lithographic prints were part of an installation, "Stone Paper Circle", based on Neolithic sites in Scotland, including Kilmartin and the Orkney Islands.

I was on sabbatical leave in the fall of 2001 and was working in my studio when the towers fell twenty-five years ago.

Reflection Circles - Seeking Participants!

Cultivating the subtle art of self-reflection as we bear witness to one another’s journey, Reflection Circles are a series of 90 minute gatherings of 8-10 people committing to regular attendance to share personal reflections on a variety of spiritual topics. It’s a wonderful opportunity to nurture new and deeper connections within our congregation through contemplation and deep listening over the course of 8-10 structured and facilitated sessions. The program was very popular last year with more than 30 participants in the three groups that were offered.

This year our three groups will be led by Sally Barney, Lee Cowan, and Clare Sartori with the following schedules:

  • Sally: Monthly 2nd Thursdays 5-6:30pm beginning October 8 (optional earlier start time if group decides 4 or 4:30 works better)
  • Clare: Twice a month Mondays 3-4:30pm beginning November 2 (various Mondays, email for exact dates. Time can be flexible)
  • Lee: Weekly Tuesdays 1- 2:30pm beginning January 26, 2027

Please email Sally for more info and to sign up! Sbarney07@aol.com

Collection for Memorial Leaf for David Crockett

April 12, 1957 - September 18, 2025

David died last September of COVID complicated by lung cancer damage and severe CNS damage and dementia, caused by the cancer treatment. He was a remarkably intelligent and artistically talented man in music, poetry, visual arts, and able to do just about anything. Many of us knew his wife Leslie, and their children Kyra, Carrie, and Nathanial, when they were regular participants in our congregation. David was a member of the choir for many years.

Cash contributions are being collected by Sally Barney. Alternatively, you may contribute by check made out to UUCSC with “David Crockett Memorial Leaf” in the memo.

New RE Assistant Needed!

We are saying goodbye to our beloved Julien who has been commuting from Boston every Sunday to work with us. They have decided to find a UU congregation closer to home this year.

We're grateful that Jenny Rebecca will be returning! And we need a second assistant, starting Sept. 13.

So please spread the word that we are hiring!

Homeschool Program renting RE

The Children's Wellness Learning Collaborative will be renting the whole downstairs RE space this year! We're so excited for this opportunity to share our space with a great program and make some revenue in the process. They will be here Monday, Weds, Friday 9am-3pm every week starting September 9th. So please be mindful of your presence in the building to give them uninterrupted space for their program. Thanks!
