“For The Love of Dog"
Heidi Wakeman and Sue Strakosch
Dogs often show up in our lives when we are ready to add more love, or when we are in crisis or in the depths of grief. For many, they are a great spiritual teacher. Today we welcome Heidi Wakeman, co-poet laureate of Gloucester, MA, and Gail Burchard's niece, to share her love of dogs.

| | The Committee on Ministry Announces, “Roots and Wings” and a New Book Discussion Group | |
The Committee on Ministry plans to continue the congregational listening sessions that we began last year. Called “Roots and Wings,” these evolving conversations about our practice can both ground us and spur our hopes and aspirations. Our goals are to share and listen deeply, to get to know each other better as individuals, and to provide lay leadership and staff with knowledge about the needs of congregants so that they may better serve our community.
In addition to our Roots and Wings conversations, the COM invites you to participate in a congregation-wide book discussion. Over the past few months, it has become clear that many of us are especially drawn to seeking knowledge in community, with a shared commitment to justice. To ground these conversations, it helps to build a common foundation and shared language. The Dawn of Everything by David Graeber and David Wengrow, paired with an intentional, growth-centered book club, offers one promising way to do this—together. READ MORE
