"Reflections on Ending This Chapter"
Beth Cobb, Assistant for Services

Beth Cobb has been the Assistant for Services at UUCUC for nearly 20 years, through five ministers and two sabbaticals and she will be retiring at the end of June (though not leaving the congregation). In this service, she will share some insights into what she has learned about being part of a team creating meaningful worship services. Beth will also share what it has meant to be part of so many weddings and memorial services for friends and strangers. We will be honoring her service and contributions to our Sunday experience in this special service.

"Sounding the Call"

The UUA's annual General Assembly features some of the most memorable worship and
music of our entire denomination. In this service, we will stream the Service of the Living Tradition from this year's General Assembly in Kansas City, MO.

Bookmark our UUCUC Events webpage for future reference.
UUCUC Mindfulness Meditation Group Join fellow UU's in a mindfulness meditation practice before worship service on Sundays ( detailed schedule ) in the YRUU room. As always, the door will be left slightly open so that late arrivals can enter quietly.

“The Story That Changed My Life" taught by Gail Cohen
We are planning an anthology of stories by UUCUC members and friends, on the theme “The Story That Changed My Life.” Interested? Curious? Come to this workshop to explore your own story. No writing experience necessary. Taught by Gail Cohen, a UUCUC member with 45 years of writing, teaching and publication history, with support from Rev. Caplow, who has edited two anthologies. For questions or to find out more, email Gail at  gailsquilt@gmail.com .
Beth Cobb Is Retiring!

Beth Cobb has been the Assistant for Services for UUCUC for nearly 20 years, providing support in the Sanctuary on Sundays and for special events. She kindly agreed to stay on for one last year to help the new minister settle in. Come this Sunday to honor her and hear her stories! If you would express thanks or memories, send an email to service-assist@uucuc.org, or bring a card for Beth on Sunday. We will also have cards and colored pens on Sunday. Beth is a lifelong member here, along with her family, so she won't be leaving UUCUC - only her position as a staff member.

New Events Coordinator

Kate recently relocated to Urbana from Kewanee in Northern Illinois, and joined UUCUC this spring. She is the former director of the Illinois Association of Housing Authorities, and she brings a great skill set and enthusiasm to this new position. She will be coordinating weddings, memorials, and rentals for us. Please welcome her!

June Shared Offering is supporting Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is a private, nonprofit international association, created in December 1971 on the belief that all people have the right to medical care regardless of gender, race, religion, creed, or political affiliation, and that the needs of these people outweigh respect for national boundaries. MSF often works in crisis contexts, including crises caused by natural disasters, health emergencies, and armed conflict and war.

Doctors Without Borders/MSF won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999.

Shared Offering Note: All designated checks/envelopes and half of the Sunday plate offerings in June will be sent directly to Doctors Without Borders/MSF. Thank you in advance for your generous support.
