"What to Make of a Diminished Thing"
Adam Davis and Worship Committee

Diminishment, personal and environmental, can be a source of deep sadness. Robert Frost's poem, 'The Oven Bird', offers wisdom for acknowledging these feelings and moving forward.

"All Are Called"
Amanda Owings, Mona Shannon and Worship Committee

Annually, Unitarian Universalists from across the world gather together to worship, to learn, and to collectively make decisions as an Association of Congregations. The theme of this year's General Assembly (GA) was, "All Are Called". 18 people of this congregation joined about 2,800 participants. In this service, we will explore the powerful challenge and beautiful spirit behind those three simple words.

Bookmark our UUCUC Events webpage for future reference.
UUCUC Mindfulness Meditation Group Join fellow UU's in a mindfulness meditation practice before worship service on Sundays ( detailed schedule ) in the YRUU room. As always, the door will be left slightly open so that late arrivals can enter quietly.

Joys and Sorrows

Tim Temple - Please keep Jerry's family in your thoughts and prayers, as they prepare their final goodbyes to Mother Marian, Marian Carden. They maintain a vigil at her bedside.

Pat Nolan - Thanks to all who attended the "ICE OUT" rally on Saturday - the turnout was far greater than we expected. Thanks also to all who are protesting immigration policy in other ways.

Tamara Ducey - Sadly, I am leaving Urbana. Happily, I am moving to SW Champaign.
Do you need a ride to church? Would you be willing to give a ride to a fellow congregant? We are so pleased to announce that Anne Reeser (217) 369-1764 has generously volunteered to coordinate rides to church on Sundays for those who need them. If you need a ride, call Anne by Saturday night. If you are willing to be on a list for giving people rides please call Anne today and let her know so she can have a list of drivers to call on.
June Shared Offering is supporting Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is a private, nonprofit international association, created in December 1971 on the belief that all people have the right to medical care regardless of gender, race, religion, creed, or political affiliation, and that the needs of these people outweigh respect for national boundaries. MSF often works in crisis contexts, including crises caused by natural disasters, health emergencies, and armed conflict and war.

Doctors Without Borders/MSF won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999.

Shared Offering Note: All designated checks/envelopes and half of the Sunday plate offerings in June will be sent directly to Doctors Without Borders/MSF. Thank you in advance for your generous support.
Summer religious education classes for K-5 will be in Children's Chapel. The nursery will be available for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.

In our religious education program, it is offered every other year. More details about the OWL curriculum are available at http://www.uua.org/re/owl .

If you are interested, please contact Jody Hanger, RE Assistant, at re-director@uucuc.org . She would be happy to answer questions, put you in contact with other trained OWL facilitators in our congregation, or help get you registered for the training.
