A budget for the coming year is being proposed. UUA Declaration of Conscience
At our annual meeting on  May 7 , the Social Action Committee will be asking our congregation to approve signing a UUA Declaration of Conscience. This Declaration calls congregations to commit to putting Unitarian-Universalist values of equity, compassion, and love into action to resist bigotry, fear and hate. Stop by the Social Action Committee Table to read the Declaration; sign it as an individual; and to learn more!
Circle Suppers 2017 - Sign up this Sunday!
Get to know other UU Members & Friends over a casual potluck meal!  Circle Suppers are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month in a UU member or friend’s home. They are intergenerational and welcome families with children, couples, and singles in a relaxed setting. Get more information and sign up at the Hub Table in Fellowship Hall after services—you can sign up for one supper, or as many as you want to in the next year.  You can also contact Sara Schumacher or Nancy Dietrich to sign up or for questions.
Property Announcement... from Jerry Carden
We are currently without a sexton. We hope to have an interim person hired soon. In the meantime, we ask for persons to be more mindful than usual in cleaning up after yourselves - especially spills and crumbs on the floors. Committees may need to be involved a bit more in setups for group meetings and pay more attention to the conditions in our restrooms, kitchens and other heavy use areas. If you see an issue you think property should be aware of let me or Rosalyn know.

Watch your step! A reminder that the south entry from the parking lot is still very uneven. Until weather cooperates for the Birch tree to be removed and the concrete to replace the uneven brick we can’t begin renovating the landscaping in that area. If you would like to participate in the design or the labor to improve that important space let me know!

Are you newly retired? Thinking about it? In the midst of being retired? Want to talk with others who are in this stage of life too?
Please join a new group that has formed:  meets 4th Wednesday of each month  2 - 3:30 p.m. in the Library  (next meeting Wednesday, April 26).  Questions? Contact: Rev Joanne
Joys and Sorrows
Katriena Knights - A friend whose cousin lost her battle with depression this past week.
Jerry Carden - In rememberance of our accompanist Kent Conrad - gone too soon - Kent would have been 55 on April 20th.
David Roth in concert this Friday!
Looking for something to do with your family this Friday, April 21st? Come to Fellowship Hall at 7 pm for a great concert by folksinger David Roth.  Music, storytelling, treats! $10 suggested for adults, kids free.
Partner Church Indian Brunch
Please join us this Sunday, April 23, 2017 after worship for a scruptious Indian brunch hosted by the Partner Church Committee. During the brunch, we will conduct a fun trivia game about the culture, geography and history of India.  The question for this week is: Two countries to the North of India, bordering on Meghalaya?
The next UU Happy Hour will be at a grocery store!
The New Harvest Market grocery store on south Neil has a bar in it, and we are meeting there Thursday, April 27th. You can buy wine or beer at the bar or buy a bottle of wine in the grocery store and open it in the bar. They even have a bottle chiller for white wine fans.  Harvest Market also has a restaurant and deli, and you can take food into the bar. The restaurant menu is rather limited but there are a variety of items (things like beef and noodles, lasagna, crab cakes, meatloaf, etc.) in the deli that they will heat up for you in their microwave. Harvest Market is located at 2029 S. Neil St. Champaign. The bar is located upstairs immediately to the left of the entrance to the grocery store above the restaurant/deli. Come anytime between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
