SOCIAL ACTION NEWS
A BIG thank you to all that help support our February Shared Offering, The Public i. Through your generous donations we were able to send them $1329.78.
Our April Shared Offering is the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) is the first point of contact for children and youth who have been sexually abused. We help the child, and their non-offending parent, begin to heal while working to hold offenders accountable. We do this by providing a comfortable setting for the initial law enforcement interview, by providing counseling and case management services to the family for as long as they need us, and by coordinating the multidisciplinary investigation.

NEWS AND UPDATES
Come to the Service AUUction!

Time is running out to get your tickets for this year's Service AUUction! The event, our biggest party of the year, is being held on April 15th starting at 4:30. Tickets are $10.00/person, $30/family if you buy your tickets in advance; if you wait until the night of the auction the price goes up to $12.00/$35.00. The theme is "CrUUsing Around the World", and your ticket gets you appetizers, dinner, dessert, and open bar (beer/wine/soft drinks). Not to mention the excitement of a live auction complete with auctioneer!

This week's Auction Item of Interest is for all of you gaming geeks out there (a group among which your humble correspondent counts himself). Donated by Matthew Burack and Terri Fredrick, it is an evening of Dungeons and Dragons or space exploration: "You choose fantasy or sci-fi, and I'll host a game as well as provide a meal and snacks! Great for people who have never played a role playing game before but would like to learn and for veteran dungeoneers. You'll also get to take home a gamer kit, so you can continue the adventure on your own." Now THAT'S a great service!

As an added bonus this week, you can check out ALL the donations we've received so far at the AUUction website where we now have a copy of the current catalog posted. There are lots of cool things there, but we need LOTS AND LOTS MORE. While you're at the web site, take a moment to fill out a donation form yourself, or sign up for a volunteer stint at the auction. Please feel free to email any questions you may have to auction@uucuc.org.
