On Sunday, March 3, the 2019 UUCW Stewardship Campaign & Pledge Drive launched in poignant and humorous style! This week, members and friends who pledged last year should have received an email Sunday evening and will be receiving a mailing this week.  Emails to active members and friends will be sent this week and an update to the campaign will be sent by E-Blast on Thursday. Our goal for FY2020  ...

As you know, the Yard Sale is our biggest fundraiser of the year and it is time to start planning. It will be held this year on Saturday, June 1 and it takes many hands to have it be successful. We will begin our planning sessions soon so please let me know if you are interested in being involved. We need captains for each room along with a great deal...

This weekend is offered to UUCW members and attendees first. Seventeen have already signed up and there is room for 5 more-a single in the Main House, a double in the Main House or the Carriage House and one in the Quad.
Your check holds your room. Checks are to be made out to the Linden Tree Inn and sent to Ruth Silver, 71 Angell Brook Drive, West Boylston, MA 01583. Along with your check, please include:
  • Any food allergies/preferences
  • Any special accommodations needed (ie first floor) or roommate preference
If you have any questions, email Debbie Merrill at or Ruth Silver at .

Lost and Found Items
In order to reduce clutter in the office, Lost and Found items will no longer be kept indefinitely. They will be discarded if not claimed within a month (high value items such as cell phones will be kept longer and will be kept under lock and key).  At present, I have a gray driving cap and an Oticon hearing aid supply kit, and that lunch bag is still here, it had just been moved. If any of these items belong to you please contact the office or come in during office hours to claim them.

Help Needed! Sunday Morning Worship Team Sign-up!

We need your help.  Not a long-term commitment, just a Sunday along the way this year.  This is a congregation that relishes the many voices and passions of its people.  We are looking for people to participate on Sunday morning's by signing up to:

  • Greet Newcomers
  • Usher
  • Light the Chalice - Provide your own words or words can be provided
  • Read the Welcome - script available
  • Read Opening Words - Provide your own words or words can be provided
  • Introduce the Offering - Provide your own words or words can be provided
  • Help set up the Sanctuary prior to Service - Orientation and training provided.
This is not a lengthy commitment.  If each active member and friend of the congregation signed up for just 2 spots a year, we'd have the entire calendar covered!
LEADERS!  Have a special event or effort that you want to highlight, this is a perfect opportunity to be heard.  While providing any of the services above (sans Sanctuary set up) you can plug your special project.
ALSO, Aaron is looking for a handful of folks who would be interested and willing to be a Worship Leader on Sundays when we have a Guest Speaker.  You will receive a full script of the WA parts of the service ahead of time and will be connected personally with the Guest Speaker to work out any other details.  Training is also provided as desired.  Contact Aaron directly if you are willing to be a Worship Leader.

HERE is the link to sign up to be part of a Sunday morning Worship Team this year. Scroll to the desired date, and sign up on the element you'd like to do.  You will receive a confirmation email and a reminder email prior to your scheduled day(s).
Thanks you for all you do!!

 Touchstones For March 12 - 18
2018-2019 Touchstone Ministry Theme "Let Your Life Speak"
Parker Palmer wrote, "Before you tell your life what you intend to do with it, listen for what it intends to do with you. Before you tell your life what truths and values you have decided to live up to, let your life tell you what truths you embody, what values you represent." These themes encourage listening to your life as a way of shaping your days and guiding your journey.
This year's monthly themes, starting in September, are: vocation, formation, gratitude, peace, grace, surrender/letting go, truth, salvation/wholeness, mystery, transcendence, freedom and responsibility, and prayer.
Watch for upcoming articles in this newsletter and other weekly communications that will explore these themes in depth.

March Theme - Truth

March 12: "Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth." ~ Henry David Thoreau

March 13: "Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it." ~ André Gide
March 14: "If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and, in the end, despair." ~ C.S. Lewis
March 15: "Transformation is my favorite game and in my experience, anger and frustration are the result of you not being authentic somewhere in your life or with someone in your life. Being fake about anything creates a block inside of you. Life can't work for you if you don't show up as you." ~ Jason Mraz
March 16: "I found power in accepting the truth of who I am. It may not be a truth that others can accept, but I cannot live any other way. How would it be to live a lie every minute of your life?" ~ Alison Goodman
March 17: "There are very few human beings who receive the truth, complete and staggering, by instant illumination. Most of them acquire it fragment by fragment, on a small scale, by successive developments, cellularly, like a laborious mosaic." ~ Anaïs Nin
March 18: "Metaphors have a way of holding the most truth in the least space." ~ Orson Scott Card
