UUFF eNews - Week of April 10, 2025

Sunday 11am Service

Sunday, April 13th, 11am: "Living Our Values: Climate Justice and Action." Brought to you by the UUFF Justice Team and Joanna Person-Michener, PhD climate-aware therapist, University of Arkansas Environmental Resilience instructor, and long-time climate advocate—join us for an informed and inspiring message as we explore the moral and spiritual call to respond to the climate crisis. Grounded in our Unitarian Universalist principles, this service will connect the science of climate change with the urgent need for climate justice—highlighting global inequities, generational impacts, and the disproportionate burdens faced by BIPOC communities, women, and children. We will also introduce the UUA’s Green Sanctuary Program and share how UUFF has begun this journey, starting with our recent collaboration on the Interfaith Climate Retreat. Come be part of the conversation and the action as we envision a more just and sustainable future—together.

In honor of this "Justice Sunday," we will have a special SHARE THE PLATE collection to benefit Family Promise. Family Promise is a national non-profit organization that works to prevent and end homelessness for families with children by helping them achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response. As we face stagnant wages and an affordable housing crisis, the need is greater than ever. Please visit https://familypromise.org/ to find out more! **All loose cash gathered in the collection plates this Sunday will be directly donated to this worthy organization! You can also give via check (make payable to UUFF and please write "Family Promise" on the memo line).**

You can attend service in person at the fellowship building or view it remotely online via Facebook Live Stream. To attend live via Facebook, wait until 11am Central Standard Time (CST) and go to https://www.facebook.com/share/1AYCYhJ3ik/ and click on "Watch Live Video. A Facebook account is not required for viewing.

UUFF Events, Announcements & Opportunities

UUFF's Web of Life Nature-based Spirituality Group meets in the Sanctuary this Sunday, April 13th, at 12:30pm.

Web of Life holds regular monthly meetings after service on the 2nd Sunday of each month, and this month we will continue our group exploration of pagan practices by focusing on meditation and journaling. We'll have a guided meditation and will invite each person to share (if you wish) a bit about how you use meditation and/or journaling to enrich your life. You are welcome to bring your journal and/or favorite meditations to share. Let's learn from one another! Blessed be!

Hippity-Hop on over to the UUFF Easter Egg Hunt after service on Sunday, April 20th!

This fun UUFF community event will take place on the our lovely grounds (or inside if weather is troublesome) after the 11am Service on Sunday, April 20th.

Per tradition, our youth will hide the eggs during the service for the children to find afterwards!

Prizes will be provided by UUFF and given to all participants when the eggs are turned in! We can’t wait to see you there!

Save-the-Date: Please plan to stick around after the April 27th service for a potluck lunch and an opportunity to chat directly with members of the UUFF Space Facilities Planning Committee (SFPC) about your vision for the future of our facilities and how we can best address the space needs that naturally accompany increasing attendance. This discussion is the next step for gathering congregational input after the Initial Space Survey that was conducted several weeks ago. Your voice matters, and we want to hear it! More details to come.
