UUFF eNews - Week of April 30th, 2026

Sunday 11am Service

Sunday, May 3rd, 11am: "A Pagan Pride May Day." Join us in celebration of Pagan identity as we make space for Pagan voices, foster pride within the Pagan community, and promote public awareness of nature-based religions, which are often marginalized within the religious landscape. As interfaith communities, UU churches have long offered sanctuary to Pagan practitioners, and UUFF is no exception. The first part of this special service will focus on Pagan Pride & UU Pagan history with ritual elements woven in. The latter part will involve a lively procession outdoors to weave the Maypole. Music and revelry will continue as we celebrate High Spring with a community potluck. Bring a dish to share, as you are able, and a chair or blanket from home to enjoy activities on the green lawn. May Day, fairy, and whimsical garb is highly encouraged! All are welcome!

You can attend this service in person at the fellowship building or view it remotely online via Facebook Live Stream. To attend live via Facebook, wait until 11am Central Time (CDT) and go to: https://www.facebook.com/share/1M6Bn8WQs1/ and click on "Watch Live Video. A Facebook account is not required for viewing.

Sunday 10AM Religious Exploration Hour

Mindful Discussions for Adults - held in the Downstairs Common Area

Topic this Sunday: "Conspiracy Theories." The human brain is wired to seek out patterns even when there are none and when authority figures suggest foul-play human brains have a tendency to oblige. The same brain mechanism that saved our ancestors from predators in the past also makes vulnerable to conspiracy theories. Join us.

We are excited to welcome children and youth ages 5+ to participate in Religious Exploration at UUFF! Classrooms are downstairs and have signs to direct participants.

Non-UUFF Events & Opportunities

On Friday, May 1, hundreds of events across the country are planned as part of the May Day Strong nationwide protest, asking people to honor “No Work, No School, No Shopping.”  It is a powerful way to demonstrate our economic power and to demand that the needs of everyday Americans are met instead of the needs of the wealthy. For more information, go to the May Day Strong.org website site where you will find a listing of all of the events hosted by the 100+ organizations that are part of this extraordinary coalition. Here in Northwest Arkansas, you can participate in a peaceful public rally, Workers Over Billionaires, hosted by our own Northwest Arkansas Indivisible (INWA) group from 3:00 – 5:30 p.m. on Joyce Blvd. near Nelson’s Crossing. You can register for it on the Mobilize.us website where you will also find a map of its exact location.
