Sunday, 02/10/19, 11am Service: "The Meaning of Physical Incapacity." Marty Faitak will talk to us about dealing with physical health problems - how our lives can be changed by permanent or temporary disability.
**We will Share the Plate with Hispanic Women's Organization of Arkansas, to help fill their Scholarship Fund. "Since its inception in 2000 with the support of sponsors and donors HWOA has awarded 418 scholarships to deserving Latino students many of whom are first-generation college students, encouraging them to pursue a higher education and make their dreams a reality."​ All loose collection plate cash and specially-designated cash/checks (please write "share plate" on envelope or check memo line) will be given to this worthy organization. 10am Sunday Adult Religious Education (ARE):
ARE Discussion Group: Meets downstairs. Topic: "Images of Jesus Part 2." We’ll continue our spirited discussion of the historical Jesus and the Christ of faith — and what the value might be in each of them. For a quick review of our last session, visit http://www.aportraitofjesus.org/compare.shtml

Meditation will be held at 10:00, followed by a short reading and discussion between 10:30 -
10:45. It doesnʼt matter what type of meditation you do, or if you have ever meditated before, you
are welcome to come meditate in the UUFF Annex building (across Storer from UUFF in the west-
nearest Storer-side of the annex). ALL ARE WELCOME. Enter through the front door.

10am RE for kids 5+ continues today! All are invited to meet in room 2 downstairs at 10am for Religious Exploration, before rejoining adults for the 11 o’clock service.

 Justice Team Events/Opportunities

Saturday, Feb 16th- Facing Bias: Exposing Blind Spots—Engaging Action  led by Anne Shelley and Roanne Elliot. This 3-hour workshop is sponsored by a coalition of local NGOs, including UUFF, as well as the University of Arkansas. The workshop is the precursor to an advanced training that will take place in April. The hope is that these community-supported trainings will give residents of NWA a common understanding and vocabulary. You have a choice of morning session (starts at 9:00) or afternoon (starts at 1:30). Location: Parish Hall at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Preregistration requested:   Racial Equity Workshop

Interfaith Event: Change of Plans! Join us at the Islamic Center of Northwest Arkansas on Friday, Feb. 22nd at 7pm for a talk by Todd Green-- author, scholar, and U.S. State Department advisor on Islamaphobia. His topic: “Why Don’t Muslims Condemn Terrorism? Racist Scapegoating and Western Violence in an Age of Islamaphobia.”

NOTE: The potluck/movie night will be rescheduled for the spring.
OUR WHOLE LIVES FOR YOUNG ADULTS:
IT COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
Our Whole Lives (OWL) for young adults ages 18 to 35 (or so) will begin on Sunday, February 17, 2019, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at UUFF. Throughout eight sessions, we will discuss everything from body image and self-esteem to sexual pleasure, contraception, orientation and gender, boundaries, communication, families and more! Facilitated by Theresa Parrish and Lydia Nelson. Register online HERE . Cost is $25, with scholarships available. Arkansas UU Cluster Gathering - Listening, Learning, Leading
March 29-30th in Fayetteville!
We are a Fellowship of many colors, ages, genders, orientations, abilities, socioeconomic statuses, educations, and faith beliefs. Join us as Rev. Paid Staff Positions Available at UUFF!
The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fayetteville is in need of a part-time, permanent janitor. The position includes five hours work/week on Saturday in preparation for services on Sunday, plus occasional extra hours for special events. The overall goal is to maintain the cleanliness of UUFF's main building and annex. Necessary skills include the ability to perform custodial work, move moderate weight furniture, and prepare and maintain budgets for supplies.

UUFF is looking for an accompanist who will work with the Minister, Chalice Team, Choir or Music Director, Music Committee and other relevant groups in organizing and performing music for Sunday and other services. The accompanist is expected to work closely with the Choir Director for the music performed by the choir and will arrange for a substitute as needed for any performance. Skills needed for this position include musical aptitude to play piano, keyboard or other instruments for accompaniment with congregational singing and instrumental pieces and solo pieces of varied genres ( ie. classical, jazz, pop, gospel, hymns, carols, etc.). One must be able to work well with supervisor(s), other staff members, relevant committees, and members of the congregation. Enthusiasm for building a varied music repertoire of high quality is also important, along with keeping records, maintaining a music library, and handling relevant budgetary matters.
