Sunday 10AM Religious Exploration Classes

Meditation Group - each Sunday morning via zoom, starting at 9am.

If you'd like to attend or just to know more, please contact the Sunday Morning Meditation Lead, Ines Polonius ([email protected]). Ines sends out the zoom meeting link the night before each session.

Adult RE Mindful Discussion is held at 10am each Sunday in the downstairs common room. All are welcome.

Topic this Sunday: "Taylor Swift, Beyonce, and Barbie: Woman Power in Action."

In many ways, 2023 was the year of the woman. Between Taylor Swift's Eras tour, Beyonce's Renaissance Tour (along with movie screenings of both tours), and the Barbie phenomenon, the combined economic impact was estimated to be about $8.5 billion in the third quarter of 2023 alone. Of course, the impact is not just economic. It's cultural, as well. Girls and women all over the world have been empowered by seeing these impressive women succeed in such a spectacular and public manner. This success comes at the same time that women's rights in the U.S. are under attack in ways we haven't seen in over 50 years. And women are fighting to reclaim them. UUFF Member and regular Mindful Discussions participant Laura Brewer will join Kate in leading this discussion. We hope you'll join us as we discuss this interesting moment in history.

Youth (ages 11+) and Children's (ages 4-11) Religious Exploration Classes are offered each Sunday at 10am in the classrooms downstairs.

UUFF Announcements, Events and Opportunities

UUFF Welcomes New Members, John and Janice Johnson!

You might recognize the two fine folks in the picture above. They've been hanging around UUFF for a while now, and we're thrilled to report that they decided to "make it official" and become active members of the congregation!

About the Johnsons:

Janice grew up in Kansas City, KS, and John in Poplar Bluff, MO.

They met while attending college in Enid, Oklahoma. Janice spent most of her working years as a school secretary and administrative assistant. John spent his life as a minister and continues to share his gift of ministry as opportunity allows. John has already treated us to some amazing Sunday Services as guest speaker (one was just this past Sunday!), and we look forward to more!

They have two sons and five grandchildren, all of whom live in Arkansas.

John enjoys quilting and his model train layout, and Janice enjoys quilting and reading.

Please take a moment to say hello and welcome Janice and John when you next see them. If you would like to send a card/note/email and cannot access the online directory, please get in touch with Fawn in the office ([email protected]) to get their contact information.

UUFF's Web of Life Nature-Based Spirituality Group will meet this Sunday, February 11th, starting at 12:30pm in the UUFF Sanctuary!

At this month's gathering, we will make witch's bells and discuss Ozark folk practices.

We will provide circle frames, yarn, bells for the craft, but you are welcome to bring additional materials (bells, frames, charms, yarn, etc.). We encourage you to bring fabric/cloth that holds personal meaning for you to tear or cut into strips and incorporate into the craft.

Hope to see you then!

We are hiring! UUFF members and friends are advised of the opening of a new part-time administrative position at UUFF.

The Operations Manager will provide our fellowship with director-level support and oversight across all programmatic areas and assist with executing our strategic plan. The Operations Manager will supervise all personnel and work closely with our Administrator, Fawn, to manage HR processes for staff, develop and improve current administrative systems, and coordinate our volunteer efforts.

A detailed job description and opportunity to apply can be found at Indeed.com at the following link: https://www.indeed.com/job/operations-manager-3db6f350bd1c76d2
