10am Sunday Adult Religious Education (ARE):
ARE Discussion Group: Meets downstairs. Topic this Sunday: "Images of Jesus." This week’s conversation will center on the historical Jesus vs. the Christ of faith — two very different ways of understanding the figure at the center of Christianity.

Here is a parable about Christology itself to get us started: "A man died. The people who knew him gathered to share memories. Finally a portrait was commissioned. But as generations passed the painting did not seem fine enough. The heirs of the portrait, who had become wealthy, created a new golden frame, immense, carved with motifs from the portrait and encrusted with jewels. People began to feel that the old portrait of that dark fellow with the haunting eyes pulled the effect down. As it began to peel from age, they extended the frame inward. One day the frame covered the whole canvas." From Catherine Keller, On the Mystery: Discerning Divinity in Process

Meditation will be held at 10:00, followed by a short reading and discussion between 10:30 -
10:45. It doesnʼt matter what type of meditation you do, or if you have ever meditated before, you
are welcome to come meditate in the UUFF Annex building (across Storer from UUFF in the west-
nearest Storer-side of the annex). ALL ARE WELCOME. Enter through the front door.

10am RE for kids 5+ continues today! All are invited to meet in room 2 downstairs at 10am for Religious Exploration, before rejoining adults for the 11 o’clock service.
