Service this Sunday- July 7, 2019
Sunday, 07/07/19, 11am Service: "Tomorrow," by Guest Speaker Raven Cook.
* Raven is an African-American educator and activist and the creator of “Foundations: Black History Educational Programming.” *

10am Sunday Adult Religious Education (ARE):
ARE Discussion Group: Meets downstairs. This Sunday, w e conclude our series of conversations about end of life decisions with a discussion around abortion. What is the appropriate balance between personal decision and state control, in your opinion? Have your personal experiences influenced your thoughts?

Meditation will be held at 10:00, followed by a short reading and discussion between 10:30 -
10:45. It doesnʼt matter what type of meditation you do, or if you have ever meditated before, you
are welcome to come meditate in the UUFF Annex building (across Storer from UUFF in the west-
nearest Storer-side of the annex). ALL ARE WELCOME. Enter through the front door.

10am RE for kids 5+ continues today! All are invited to meet in room 2 downstairs at 10am for Religious Exploration, before rejoining adults for the 11 o’clock service. In this session, p articipants learn from the third Source of Unitarian Universalism, "wisdom from the world's religions which inspires us in our ethical and spiritual life." A story from Sufism, a mystical facet of Islam, demonstrates responding to negativity with gentleness and love. The Sufi faith encourages a personal relationship with the divine, exemplified by the dancing of Whirling Dervishes. The children experience a dancing meditation—not in imitation of the Whirling Dervishes, but to find movement of their own.

Sunday Nursery Services available 9:45am – 12:15pm

Lunch Angels-busy summer - serves July 20th and August 17th!
For many years, UUFF's Lunch Angels group has been part of a rotation of several volunteer groups from our community to ensure that a good, healthy meal is available to anyone in need of such each and every weekend. Volunteers meet at Genesis Church off MLK Jr. Blvd at 11am and are finished by 1pm. Summer is an especially busy time in our rotation, and several casserole-makers and folks to help serve are needed for each serve day. It would really help relieve the stress on our hard-working Lunch Angels Coordinator, Gretchen Wilkes, if folks would go ahead and sign up for the July 20th and/or August 17th dates . Paper sign-up sheets are also available in the lobby (table beneath bulletin board). Gwilkes@farmcards.org can answer any specific questions you may have!
