UUFF eNews - Week of May 7th, 2026

Sunday 11am Service

Sunday, May 10th, 11am: "Flower Communion: Our Growing Garden." Join us this Sunday for one of our most beloved traditions! As we celebrate Flower Communion, we also joyfully welcome our newest members into our UUFF family! Just as each flower adds a unique color to our communal bouquet, each new member brings fresh perspective and spirit to our living tradition. Bring a flower to share, and help us celebrate the beautiful, expanding garden of our community!

You can attend this service in person at the fellowship building or view it remotely online via Facebook Live Stream. To attend live via Facebook, wait until 11am Central Time (CDT) and go to: https://www.facebook.com/share/1DypYGn467/ and click on "Watch Live Video. A Facebook account is not required for viewing.

May 31st is "Animal Action Sunday" at UUFF! Please send Rev. Renée pics of your pets (with their names included). There will be a special “in memoriam” section, so please also feel free to submit names and photos of pets that have passed away (label them clearly for the "in memoriam" section). *We will Share the Plate with House of Little Dogs as well, so start saving those pennies! Sunday 10AM Religious Exploration Hour

Mindful Discussions for Adults - held in the Downstairs Common Area

Topic this Sunday: "Free Will." We are shaped by forces we did not choose—our genes, our upbringing, our circumstances. And yet, we experience ourselves as choosing beings. Today we explore that tension: what does it mean to be free? Join us.

We are excited to welcome children and youth ages 5+ to participate in Religious Exploration at UUFF! Classrooms are downstairs and have signs to direct participants.

Leadership Corner: Opportunities to Get Involved

Our fellowship is sustained by care, creativity, and commitment from and for our members! We are currently seeking individuals who feel called to volunteer their time, skills and gifts in leadership and service.

There are several meaningful opportunities available! Below are some committees and teams with growth opportunities (team lead name in parentheses):

  • Finance Team (Ben Hilliard) Currently seeking additional members to help steward the financial health of our fellowship.
  • Safety Committee - Looking for new members to help support the safety and well-being of our community.
  • Board of Directors (President- Stephanie Bentley) - By the end of this year (to begin their term in 2027), we will nominate two Board Members-at-Large to help guide the vision and governance of UUFF.
  • Leadership Development Committee (Joanna Person-Michener) - Seeking individuals interested in helping nurture and grow leadership within our fellowship beginning in 2027.
  • Youth & Children’s Religious Exploration Support Team (new) - A new Team is forming to support our Youth RE and Children’s RE programs, which is a great opportunity to invest in the next generation of our fellowship.
  • Green Sanctuary Committee (Joanna Person-Michener) - If you're interested in practices that honor our earth, climate justice and community resilience, the Green Sanctuary Committee is an effort you may really enjoy! The UUA Green Sanctuary leaders are currently providing guidance and support to UU Congregations that wish to become climate resilience hubs, which is a timely, fascinating and practical initiative.

There are other teams and committees looking for volunteers too! Even if you’re not sure where you might fit and/or you just have questions, we would love to connect with you. UUFF leadership has space for a wide range of passions, skills, and levels of availability.

Please reach out to Joanna Person-Michener (479) 225-6803 (text is best) or Stephanie Bentley (stephmacbentley@gmail.com) to explore the possibilities!
