*We will Share the Plate with 7hills Homeless Center this Sunday. Did you know that there are at least 1,413 people known to be experiencing homelessness in Northwest Arkansas, many of them under the age of 18? 7hills Homeless Center operates with the ultimate goal of providing a specialized continuum of services and housing programs to assist everyone experiencing homelessness in NWA, no matter their individual challenges and life circumstances . Loose collection plate money and specially-designated cash/checks (please write "share plate" on envelope or check memo line) gathered during offertory will be given to this worthy community organization. To find out more, visit https://7hillscenter.org/ *

SPECIAL NOTE: Today's 11am service will be followed by a social time offering ice cream treats to celebrate the kick-off of our 2020 Stewardship Pledge Drive! All are welcome to attend.

10am Sunday Adult Religious Education (ARE) options:
ARE Discussion Group: Meets downstairs in common room. Topic: "Forgiveness." Writer and Presidential candidate, Marianne Williamson wrote, "Forgiveness is not always easy. At times, it feels more painful than the wound we suffered, to forgive the one that inflicted. And yet, there is no peace without forgiveness." Do you agree?

Meditation will be held at 10:00, followed by a short reading and discussion between 10:30-
10:45. It doesnʼt matter what type of meditation you do, or if you have ever meditated before, you
are welcome to come meditate in the UUFF Annex building (across Storer from UUFF in the west-
nearest Storer-side of the annex). ALL ARE WELCOME. Enter through the front door.

10am RE for kids 5+ continues today! All are invited to meet in room 2 downstairs at 10am for Religious Exploration, before rejoining adults for the 11 o’clock service. This session introduces worship with our UU faith communities as a sign of our faith. Children learn some components of a Unitarian Universalist worship service and create a mini-worship together.

Sunday Nursery Services available 9:45am – 12:15pm
These important (and fun!) Sunday tasks are completely reliant on YOUR willingness to volunteer. Training is available! Please sign up via the links below OR on the clipboards hanging on the lobby bulletin board.

UUFF's Lunch Angels serves again on
Saturday, October 19th.
Several volunteers are needed - both make casseroles and to set-up/serve/clean-up. The group meets at 11am at Genesis Church on MLK Jr. Blvd. If you are interested in literally "serving" those within our community in need of a good meal, please sign up HERE. You can also sign up on the clipboard on the activities table beneath large bulletin board in the UUFF lobby. Gretchen Wilkes ( gwilkes@farmcards.org ) is available for any questions you may have about being a part of this profoundly important local social justice project.
Justice Meet-up Sunday, October 20th at 12:15 in the back of the Sanctuary. Passionate about social justice? Share your ideas and get involved in upcoming projects. We will be talking about the calendar for next year, so please think about possible activities for 2020.
UUFF's annual Remembrance Ceremony Service will be held at 11am on Sunday, October 27th. All are invited to bring a photo or memento of someone (pets are people, too!) you have lost and wish to hold in your heart during this very special time of year. An altar will be set up for placement of the items, if you wish, so that we all can share in the special remembrance, as a community of love and support.
CEO Donations Needed
Cooperative Emergency Outreach is in dire need of the following:
  • Canned vegetables like carrots, mixed veggies, peas, spinach, corn (green beans are not needed; we can still get those from the NWA Food Bank).

Ready to learn more about Unitarian Universalism and membership at UUFF?

New UU Fall Session- October 13th and 20th from 5:30-8pm: Sign up to attend a two-meeting series of exploration into Unitarian Universalism and what it means to become a UUFF member.

These classes are purely informative and are a great chance to connect. Many choose to become members after attending, but the choice is yours, no pressure! It’s great to attend both classes, but if you can only attend one of the 2, that is okay! Please sign up and let us know if you will need childcare.

October 13th Sign-Up - Potluck dinner
On Saturday October 12th, all are invited to tour the off-grid "tiny house" of UUFF members Ryan & Amanda Bancroft! Learn about our 7th Principle in action: solar, greywater, composting, rainwater harvesting and more. This open-house-style event offers time slots at 3:00, 4:00, and 5:00pm. Carpooling is encouraged, with a maximum of 10 folks in each time slot (due to "tiny" nature of the home). Please bring comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate attire and snacks to share. For directions and to sign up for a time slot, contact the UUFF office or call Amanda at (479) 799-9909. For photos and more information, visit www.RipplesBlog.org or find us on Facebook: Ripples Blog.
Good News! Long-time UUFF member Anne Prichard has kindly offered to take on the role of being our Archivist/Historian once again! The archives have not been consistently kept since Anne had to step away in 2015, so if you have any newspaper articles, etc. having to do with UUFF and/or it's members, especially from 2015-current (and ongoing!), PLEASE do bring them in to the office so that the information can be added to our history!
