We have 28 pledgers that remained the same. We have 21 new pledgers for 2025. These 103 pledges represent $533,316 pledged during our generosity campaign so far. The Psalmist says, “Be still and know that I am God,“ however, do you find that the concept of “being still” seems more and more difficult in our world today? Finding peace with God is challenging for us all, whether it’s the busyness that characterizes our life externally or the anxiety, fear, and chaos within.
Join us for in November as we consider the ways God causes us to cease our striving and find the quiet center in the midst of a world full of noise.

Sunday Morning Kiosk Update:
It has come to our attention that checking in using the church center app still forces you to go to a kiosk to check-in. This is a bug on the Planning Center's end that they are working to resolve. We apologize for this inconvenience and would recommend checking in at the physical kiosks if this bug is frustrating to you. Thank you for your patience and we appreciate your willingness to adapt to our technological updates.
Monday while checking in at the doctor’s office for a vaccine, the receptionist asked if I used to work at University Terrace. I immediately knew she was one of “our kids" and thankfully my brain was firing on all cylinders; not only was I able to remember her but also who her mentor was! In Lisa Frost’s last year as Kids Hope director in 2009, she matched the 1st grader with Natalie Leyoub, an LSU soccer player. They stayed together for almost 4 years until Natalie graduated. In 5th grade, she was mentored by another soccer player chosen by Natalie and she participated in our Garden Team and our book club which back then was only for accelerated readers that were hand-picked by their teachers. She remarked that she couldn’t believe we were still doing Kids Hope after all these years. She told me that the picture of her and Natalie that was taken in our old Kids Hope room is still on her fridge and she thinks about Natalie all the time.
It was such a joy running into her and I know you join me in celebrating her; knowing that we share a small part of her story.

I hope to see you all at the Intergenerational Mission Dinner this Sunday at 5:00pm. We will pack bags of warmth that will be handed out to all of the kids who attend our Holiday Carnival. Also, please let me know if you can help out at the Carnival. It is our most anticipated event of the year and takes the help of many to pull it off.

Christmas Toy Collection:
Our collection of Christmas toys has started! Each year, Hope Ministries identifies families in need of assistance. For some children, the gift they receive through Hope Ministries will be the only item they receive at Christmas. If you plan to shop for toys please spend $20 to $25 on EACH item. All toys should be NEW and unwrapped. No guns, knives, or toys of violence. On Sunday, there will be a bin in the narthex for you to drop off toys. You also may bring toys to the church office during normal office hours. (Please do not leave toys in the Fellowship Hall.) If you prefer to donate money, please designate that your donation is for the “toy drive.” The money the church receives will be used to fund gift cards for the teens who will be receiving Christmas gifts through Hope Ministries.
The deadline for the toy collection is the first Sunday in December. Thanks for helping to make a difference in the lives of these children. Merry Christmas!!
