UVBA Launches Community Foundation
The Upper Valley Business Alliance is pleased to announce the launch of our community foundation, the Upper Valley Business Alliance Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, tax ID# 87-3497466. The purpose of the foundation is to further educational, economic development and workforce development opportunities in the Upper Valley.
Why a foundation?
UVBA is a mission-driven organization dedicated to working on the issues facing our communities. However, our tax designation of a 501c6 nonprofit organization precludes us from applying for many grant opportunities as well as being able to provide a tax deduction for donations. We felt that having a 501c3 foundation would enable us to go after more opportunities and resources that would build our capacity in helping our communities.
What will the foundation focus on?
The UVBAF will look for opportunities to attract funding and resources for furthering community projects as well as UVBA’s program initiatives, including the MedTech Collaborative, the Upper Valley BIPOC Network, and the Upper Valley Arts Alliance as well as areas such as entrepreneurship and community development.
How will the foundation operate?
The UVBAF will have a separate board of directors from UVBA, although 1-2 of UVBA’s current board will also serve on the UVBAF.
We are very excited to launch this new organization and mission for serving our Upper Valley communities. Stay tuned for more information as we develop and grow. If you would like more information, please email Tracy Hutchins or call us at 603-448-1203.
