UWFK is Named an "Irma Angel"
UWFK was pleased to accept an "Irma Angel" award, in recognition of the support that we provided for Florida Keys Healthy Start Coalition's hurricane relief efforts.

UWFK Partners with Congressman Curbelo's Office for VITA Event
On April 5, VITA Coordinator Loretta Geotis and our VITA volunteers assisted Congressman Curbelo's office with a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) tax preparation event at the Islamorada library.

Thank You to Our VITA Volunteers!

UWFK has just completed another successful tax season with our VITA program. We assisted 135 families with their returns, resulting in over $110,000 in refunds. This goes a long way towards helping these hard-working families afford their necessities.

Florida Ranks 42nd in
Nation in Prosperity

According to the Florida Prosperity Network, "...there is growing evidence that positive economic gains at the national level are not widely shared by low- and moderate-income families in Florida."

Supporter Spotlight
The Monroe County School District has been influential in assisting and promoting the mission and work of the United Way of the Florida Keys. Thanks to the generous support of their employees, they are one of UWFK's leading workplace giving campaigns. With this assistance, we are able to provide resources to the many families in need throughout Monroe County. We would like to recognize all of the faculty, staff, school board members and administrators who make this possible.
