Community Members Come Together

Thank you to all who participated and volunteered to help make this event possible. Special thank you to the IM Food Policy, Angela Miller, and her team from Freedon Acres School, Ionia ISD.

A full day of community and learning the needs of our neighbors. The morning was spent learning about Adverse Childhood Experiences and ALICE individuals and how we need to work together to help others.

In the afternoon, the attendees were divided into different family types ranging from single parents to multi-generational families and faced with tough decisions to make ends meet. Each 15 minutes resembled 1 week that an ALICE family faces every day in making ends meet.

At the end of the day there was a time to share our experiences and relate to one another. It was eye-opening for all who attended that may help ALICE individuals each day, but maybe never walked in their shoes. For more information or to take a virtual challenge yourself, CLICK HERE

WOMEN UNITED - Come Connect With Us!

The ladies are in full swing for 2024! They have been out spreading literacy with Little Libraries and sharing books. Each month they have a Lunch N' Learn, where a speaker comes to talk about their programs. Sara McCallum from Barrie's House joined the February lunch and explained their outreach. Many projects and opportunities to get involved and make some new friends too!

Women United is dedicated to helping under-resourced women and their families advance out of poverty through initiatives focused on philanthropic action and volunteerism. If you would like to become involved with United Women.
