Huber's Butchery GM, Thomas Kreissl, and I went to Germany and France on a sourcing trip late last month. We were able to visit a number of potential suppliers and we have no doubt you will see some of these new products in the store in time to come.
The world famous Rungis market in Paris
In Berlin, we went to see Kadewe, the second largest department store behind Harrods. They had a good selection of gourmet food in their food hall section. However, the highlight of the trip had to be the trip to the world famous Rungis market in Paris. It was way bigger than 10 halls of Singapore Expo combined and it would be best to drive around to the different halls if you want to cover as much as we did. You can find all sorts of produce and top quality ones, mostly from France, but from the rest of the world as well. It is like a foodies' paradise and I highly recommend doing a tour of it on your next trip to Paris. Where else can you have freshly caught and shucked French oysters at 4 in the morning with a glass of wine?!
