Set to Taste Some Chili at Ultimate Tailgate?!

Come enjoy the Ultimate Tailgate Rib & Chili Cookoff from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 in the Beanblossom Parking Lot!


Locals and traveling teams show off their chili and ribs, while patrons pack the parking lot! 


There is a $5 admission while chili supplies last. **Please note: This is not a rib tasting event.**


Grab some lunch from Back Road Bar-B-Q, who will be on site and have food to purchase!


We’ll be showing the Bears vs. Panthers game on the big screen at noon. Wild Wrek will be playing live music from noon to 3 p.m.

The bars offer specials and get involved in the competitions, too! It always makes for a great fall afternoon downtown!

Pull open the group chat and get that Witches Night Out planned for Thursday, Oct. 17 in Dixon!

Scarecrow Fest Features 6 Blocks of Fun!

The Scarecrow Festival always has the streets buzzing with excitement each year! The annual festival will return from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 to downtown Dixon.


More than 100+ booths and activities await on 6 city blocks, including crafters, pumpkin painting, street performers, games, donut eating contests, a petting zoo, face painting, flower pot decorating, and pumpkin bowling. A map outlining the major activities will be posted at discoverdixon.com the week before the event.


Pumpkin race “cars” will battle to be named the fastest racer down Hennepin Avenue as the annual Pumpkin Derby returns at 1 p.m. between First and Second Street. Click here for more information and/or to register!

Halloween Parade Returning This Year!

BOO-YAH! Ghosts, ghouls and goblins, get pumped! Because the annual Halloween Parade is back! Treat Street Parade and Palooza - a Dixon tradition with a new title – returns Saturday, Oct. 26!


The parade will begin and end at Haymarket Square, 317 W. 3rd St., and Treat Street will continue with a Trunk & Treat at KSB Town Square Centre, 102 S. Hennepin Ave., and treats at participating downtown businesses.


Schedule

9 a.m.: Parade Assembly

9:15 a.m.: Judging Concludes

9:20 a.m.: Parade Begins

10 a.m.: Awards (Categories are Pre-K, K-1st Grade, 2nd-3rd, and 4th-8th) & Dismiss to Treat Street

10-11:30 a.m.: Treat Street/Trunk & Treat
