Friends of the Farm-

This week seemed to fly by! Bumper crops of late summer produce has kept our team busy with weekly harvests for local restaurants from San Francisco to Napa & Sonoma Counties, and beyond. We love the continued connections we are making with neighboring chefs and being able to highlight our produce on nearby menus. Please continue to support our local restaurants and their hospitality teams. We are fortunate to have their talents and be nourished by their creativity and commitment to the craft.

Save the date! - Saturday September 18th -Umbel Roots Farm Dinner
Multi-course outdoor dinner featuring guest chef, Andreya Nightingale with wines curated by Tom & William.
More info coming next week with opportunity to purchase tickets and join us for this fun evening from the farm. An exciting opportunity for us to share our farm with you for an evening under the setting sun, highlighted by the season's produce. Surely not to miss, stay tuned! We'd love to have you as our guests.

This week's recipe is another summer favorite from Farmer William's kitchen. The simple combination of wax beans, tomatoes, and cucumbers make for a refreshing & easy late-summer salad. Packed with a nice mix of textures and flavorful veggies and herbs, this salad is a sum of its parts. A drizzle of balsamic vinegar and shaved parmesan take it over the top!

Don't forget to tune into this week's edition of our CSA music playlist...
This week we feature some funky instrumental-laden tracks and mix of Soul and influence from African and Cumbia music. As the days of summer slowly get shorter with each passing sunset songs like Bodouine's One of These Days or Gillian Welch's classic Wayside/Back In Time are welcome transitions to the anticipating this next season. Lyrics such as Gillian's "Peaches in the summertime, apples in the Fall, if I can't have you all the time I won't have none at all" seem especially timely in this space. Do enjoy!
