Friends of the Farm-

A few new items making their way into this week's CSA box. Our summer peppers are coming on strong and this week we share Shishitos with you. Also a nice mix of fresh summer herbs such as Chives, green Coriander, and a mixed basil bunch can bring extra pop to highlight your home cooking. We can't say enough about how dynamic the flavor of fresh green coriander seeds are and the extra punch they give to summer cooking. A fun trial if you've never worked with this ingredient in this form before.

Summer squash, tomatoes, eggplants, and melons are all coming along at the farm in weeks ahead. This is a really fun time of year to see the farm running on all cylinders and showing diversity from all of our spring planting efforts. The days are long and our fields are full!

This week's recipe features fresh Green Coriander Seeds with grilled fish and the season's first Shishito Peppers. We invite you to unlock the dynamic freshness of Coriander seed when used in this way. A great summer recipe!

Reminder that this and other past newsletters from this CSA quarter can now be found via our website at In the case of wanting to revisit a recipe, produce guide, or past playlist they are all collected here under the Newsletter Archive tab. We will continue to update each week.

This week's playlist has taken on a bit of a theme... With hot weather ahead and in celebration of the height of West Coast summer we're calling this playlist Umbel Roots Goes West. A collection of country-western, cowboy tunes, and bluegrass will have both new songs and forever-favorite standards represented. These songs sound great on a hot, dusty day at the farm or when circling the wagons and ringing the dinner bell at your home. Giddy up!

All our best from the farm,
Tom & William
