Friends of the Farm-

A noticeable shift in temperature, winds, and humidity at the farm this week has us all feeling as though we have now finally made the turn towards the season of Autumn. We welcome it with open arms and the crops to reflect the Fall season ahead. Both our greenhouse and outdoor bed transplanting this week has seen this momentum shift. We've actively worked to turn beds from the last of summer's produce to preparation for their rests, rejuvenation, and re-imagination for next successions. Broccolis, cauliflowers, cabbages, kales, artichokes, brussels sprouts, lettuces, and more are all in the works.

This week's recipe highlights our late-summer Heirloom tomatoes and the mixed bouquet of Green & Britton Shiso in your produce box. Shiso is a favorite herb of ours and one featured in a great deal of delicate Japanese dishes. As simple late summer veggie salad, this recipe can either serve as a side dish to dinner this week or as a snack or midweek lunch on its own.

Around the world and back again, we return to John Stewart's, California Bloodlines and Sonoma County's own Rainbow Girls. A fun mix to enjoy over your Labor Day Weekend ahead whether your plans include travel or digging in at home. Do enjoy!
