While Sound for Film is our main creative medium at Studio Unknown, Films are also our main source of inspiration. It doesn't mean, however, that it's the
only
inspiring cinematic art-form we enjoy. Interactive Entertainment (aka Video Games) offers a different perspective on the medium of sound and often give us creative sparks in our approach to cinematic sound for film. Case in point, Uncharted 4; the latest installment of Naughty Dog's beloved series. Featuring sweeping vistas,
Indiana Jones
style jaw-dropping action and near photo-realistic graphics, Uncharted 4 obviously needed sound to match. The series is known for it's film-like look and feel, but the SoundWorks Collection have released a new sound profile on the sound team behind the game showing the lengths they went to to create a sonically epic experience.

2016 Artomatic-Frederick festival. Started in 1999, and traditionally held in Washington, DC neighborhoods, Artomatic began it's spinoff, Artomatic @ Frederick in 2010. Studio Unknown will be joining up with Blair Witch Project director, Ed Sanchez, to discuss their collaborative film Exists in a
Post Production Sound Workshop on June 1st at 7:00pm.
