Custom Wood Signs Made by a Master

Your Home's Location in 22kt Gold Leaf

David Wilson had been crafting signs for over 40 years when he first created a wooden sign to bring his passion for boating indoors during the winter months.

He made the base out of dried mahogany with carved edges and then lettered his home's latitude and longitude with 22 karat gold leaf edged in navy blue. After experimenting with several finishes, David found that the marine varnish provided the most protection while enhancing the color of the mahogany. What began as a personal art piece for his home is now something you can hang in your own home.

The POWER of NETWORKING

The power of NETWORKING !

A message from Dave DiLorenzo

I have had the pleasure of attending a handful of events with Jay White and have met some terrific business professionals over the past few years. Most recently, I attended one of "Uncle Jay's Traveling Breakfast Network" meetings, at Delman Watch, in Cranston, RI. There, I met, Denise Salvaggio of WPRO 630am and WPRV 790am. We exchanged business cards and spoke the next day. From that, an appointment was made to meet again and it has changed my life.

Let me back-up a bit. Since 1984, I have been in the radio broadcasting industry. Previously, I have worked as the host of a Smooth Jazz show and a Sports Talk Show  here in Rhode Island and Florida. During the past couple of years, I have been working with an Internet Radio Network which has been great, but it has been very hard to get back onto terrestrial radio.

Denise has reached out and has  helped me secure a dream opportunity that has now become a reality. Denise and I have come up with a terrific idea to get my voice heard, along with my business partner, Joseph "Ace" Cacchiotti .  Ace and I have agreed, in principle, to host a weekly, one-hour, Sports Talk show on WPRV 790am from 11am-12 noon, every Sunday morning.

My co-host, "Ace", (a Cranston native), is the former Director of Archives at NFL Film. He has recently written his autobiography, entitled, "Gridiron Gumshoe, My Life In &  Out of The NFL Films Vault" . Our show will clearly focus on the legendary NFL players of years gone by. We will conduct interviews with some of the greatest players to ever play the game, such as Joe Namath, Jim Brown, Steve Grogan, Raymond Berry and Tom Matte. Our players will be as close as possible to football fans, here in New England, as we will be bringing many of these legends to local entertainment venues in the coming weeks for special events, called "The Night of The Legends" .

We are so excited about this opportunity ....and none of it could have been made possible  without "Uncle Jay's Traveling Breakfast Network" . I  strongly encourage anyone to attend the next one, it could truly change your life -

Another tip from your Uncle Jay

Put your business cards everywhere!

How many times have you been to a networking event and forgot your business cards or ran out of business cards! Place your business cards everywhere possible. They do you no good staying in the box you received from your printer. Place them everywhere.

Currently, my business cards are in my glove compartment, under the seat in my truck, on my desk at home, in the garage, on my desk at work, in my briefcase and on the landing space where I put my keys and everything I accumulated from that day.
Can you think of other places? Let me know. Business cards are the most inexpensive form of advertising and should be handed to everyone who gives you one of their cards. Just another tip from your Uncle Jay

CHAMBER CHALLENGE

April Fool's

WEDNESDAY April 1st

You are invited to CHADD of RI's Program:

How Neurofeedback Can Improve ADHD

With the Director of the Neurodevelopment Center Providence/Cambridge

Dr. Larry Hirschberg

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1

7:00 -9 PM

Bradley Hospital - Pine Room

1011 Veterans Memorial Pkwy. East Providence , RI (Riverside)              Members are free. Donations appreciated from guests.

First was talk therapy. Then came medication. Now in the most advanced treatment centers, findings from neuroscience are being directly applied to improve brain function and treat psychological disorders through intensive brain training techniques.

The key discovery of recent brain science is that the brain is quite shapeable. Like plastic. This is called neuroplasticity. This discovery has led to a new approach to treatment that employs intensive brain training strategies to treat many psychological disorders including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, depression, behavior disorders, and learning disabilities. Neurofeedback, Cogmed Working Memory Training, even our Preschool LEAP Program are all treatments that harness the brain's capacity for change through brain exercise and training.

Some worry that a diagnosis will be used as a label. And no one likes labels. For us, understanding the problem doesn't mean you are getting a label. It means you are getting a map, with guideposts that point the way to the solution.  Most often, our clients are relieved when they finally know what's wrong. For many, it allows them to accept the challenge and move ahead. It can remove the confusion, and reduce the guilt or self-blame. Most importantly, it can increase your motivation to do the tough work of change.

My son is 10 years old and has been diagnosed with non-verbal learning disorder. He was challenged every day to control his emotions and manage his frustrations with everyday situations. He would become very upset when he perceived situations as unfair or negative...He would become overly aggressive, (showed) ragelike behavior, and (was) extremely defiant to everyone. ....After approximately 10 sessions of neurofeedback, we began to see a difference. He is now handling the same situations with grace. He is handling the loss of football games and recess at school without incident. He is a better friend and is in better control of his emotions."

Members Free. Donations are appreciated from Guests.

On a Corner. That's Where it Started.

Inspired by great fresh ingredients, our small neighborhood bakery on a corner in downtown Chicago began creating artisan breads and freshly baked sweets. And upon a little success, neighbors began to ask us for sandwiches made with that fabulous bread, followed by homemade soups and salads, and even made-to-order scramblers. Our guests' requests continued to inspire us as our bakery's menu and business grew.
