LCC Stars Baseball Updates

December 2023

That's a Wrap!

Fall season wrapped up, along with classes on December 10. The coaching staff was delighted and proud of all the growth experienced over the first four months, both on the field and off. The Stars worked hard in the classroom, finishing with a team 3.1 GPA for the semester and 20 student-athletes with a 3.5 or higher. The overall growth in the weight room was impressive as well. With much thanks to RD Kate and Coach Boyer for helping lead the charge, we found team muscle mass growing by 2.2 pounds on average and body fat mass decreasing by 1.8 pounds during the fall season. The Stars also saw massive gains with position players and pitchers' analytical numbers. We are thankful for our state-of-the-art technology to track all the growth. Now, if we could find about ten more data analysts, we would be all set.

Selfless Is A Core Value Here...

We are always trying to teach the importance of being selfless and serving not only each other but also strangers. You could find the team donating time with the Salvation Army bell ringing for two weeks while also working at their toy shop, helping sort, organize, and support those shopping. We also had many hands-on campus helping to make blankets for Lansing's Homeless Angels in the Cesar E. Chavez Learning Center. Fox 47 sports reporter Thomas Cook even visited the Gier Center and produced a story with our 517 Stars Team and the KCS Angels, which can be found below.
