September is here, bringing the first hints of fall and plenty of new handcrafted treasures to Genuine Georgia. This month, we're celebrating talented artists, beautiful handmade pieces, and the unique finds that make every visit to our shop something new.

Happy Labor Day! We hope everyone enjoys a fun and relaxing holiday weekend with family and friends. Genuine Georgia will be closed Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. We’ll reopen on Tuesday, September 8, and look forward to seeing you!

Cruise into Downtown Greensboro for a fun-filled day of classic cars, rock ’n’ roll, and small-town charm! Bring the family, admire the cars, and enjoy the downtown atmosphere as the community comes together for this annual favorite. While you’re downtown, be sure to visit the Greene County History Museum for Hooves to Horsepower, featuring historic carriages, wagons, and photographs showcasing transportation through Greensboro’s history. And of course, stop in the store to see what’s new while you’re there!

Artist of the Month: Glennis Jolley

Glennis Jolley of Covington creates beautiful stained glass pieces inspired by her appreciation for old-world craftsmanship. By experimenting with color, texture, and design, Glennis creates artwork that fits beautifully into a variety of homes and spaces.

Her goal is to create pieces that can be enjoyed for years to come and treasured for generations. Stop by Genuine Georgia this month to explore Glennis’ collection and discover a piece of stained glass to call your own.

This month, Cynthia is highlighting the beautiful handcrafted boxes by Larry McDougald. This particular box combines rich Ambrosia Maple and Walnut with a striking Purple Heart wooden handle, finished with a felt-lined bottom inside.

Larry recently brought in 12 new boxes in a variety of sizes, giving you plenty to choose from. One has already found a new home, so stop by Genuine Georgia to see the collection while they’re here!
